    Hey everyone,

I have a 2009 prerunner double cab. I have a 2.5 daystar leveling kit on it with 265/75/16 on 16x8 with either +10 or +20 offset. I wanna say they are +10 but I cant say for sure, I can check that when I run home next week. I want to throw on 285/75/16 tires but I wanna make sure they will fit. Ive read a few threads that say they will fit with rubbing. I have no problem with some rubbing but I want to make sure they will fit. Also, if I do want to trim, how easily is this done? Thanks yall, I appreciate the feedback.

You should be able to, key will be the offset of the wheels.

I know 4.5" backspace is the magic number but not sure how that converts to the +10 system. You might have to do a little trimming and take off the mud flaps too. That's 2.5 lift with 285/75/16 on 16x8.5. 4.5 backspacing.

Cut because you have to cut...or because it just makes things easier. I'm also trying to figure this out. Can I run that size tire without cutting and not have problems.

This question gets answered in at least 3 threads per day.

If you want 33s and don't want to trim, run 255s.

I had to remove front mini flaps, remove reg mud flaps, and trim some of the plastics on the inner fender liner as well as trim the cab mount and flatten the pinch weld. it wasn't an issue on normal driving but whenever I went to the desert I would rub. so it is HEAVILY clearanced

with the pictures you posted up there, did you do any trimming? or was the backspacing on the wheel enough?

I had to take off the mud flaps (even the little one in the front) and very minor trimming 20161208_125236.jpgIt was two years ago and I can't remember what I had to trim but not much. Now I don't even see what I cut. Each truck is going to be a little different. I have the bilstein 5100 set at 2.5 with stock springs and stock uca. My factory caster adjustment is maxed. If you do adjustable uca then it will push the tire back more. You don't have room to spare. I will be upgrading my suspension with uca. My "plan" is to max out the factory caster adjustment and see how much the factory camber adjustment will adjust caster too. Basically move the lower ball joint as far forward as possible. Then use the adjustable uca to correct camber and caster. I'm thinking it's going to be a dance back and forth to get the alignment/tire placement where I want it. You'll have to find an alignment person who is willing to work with you. I'm going to do all this to minimize cutting and cmc. The alternative is buy the tires you want, set the alignment however you want and cut whatever is in the way. That is the way most people do it (I think) but I'm willing to do the extra work to minimize what has to be trimmed.

I'm running 275-70-18, a true 33" tire. Had to remove the front mud flaps.
