Saw a taco going to school today, it went off from the 5 at around 4:30pm towards old town exit. It was long travel with new fiberglass and the bed had two mounted spares standing up with and empty middle and the license plate in the middle up on some metal thing. All black and black rims. Looked like 35s.

How do those things handle on the highways/freeways? Any flapping or scuffing paint?

I've noticed some mild scuffing on my cab, but its not very noticeable since my truck is silver...nothing a wax n buff wouldn't get out. Otherwise it doesn't flap whatsoever, super solid.

To make up for my inadvertent thread jacking.

Found on Coronado, Kings and an ARB bumper. Literally the reason I bought a Pyrite Mica DCLB.

Its not that it flaps against the cab.... it's the two back edges that slightly rub up against my cab. I could always mount it further down my bedside rails but then it hangs over the tailgate too much. Too much gap between the cab and the topper looks fuckn' weird to me.

edit: A photo would help but I'm busy drinking and my truck is parked too far away.

Weird..... maybe a 1st Gen thing? have you tried adjusting the tension on the 4 straps in the corners? loosen the ones near the cab, and tighten the ones near the tailgate?

I hear you on that! haha! adjusting those straps actually moves the top a lot more than you'd expect. if that doesn't help, try moving the center pivot point down a notch. that should bring everything in a bit as well. but if you do that you'll have to widen your mounting rails so everything stays nice and taut!

    Good luck!

No scuffing. Haven't experienced any flapping either, they're pretty durable!
