60.00 bucks but if you any one in your neighborhood that has the tools they might lend it to you.

I noticed this on my '15 with 23k the other day. I have billies at 1.75. sounds like it's best to just get the ECGS bushing and call it a day?

I was at Oilcan Harry's in Austin and felt a strange grinding.

Turns out it was just @ChadsPride

I'm taking mine in to the dealer tomorrow. It just started getting noticeable in the pedals at 31K - OME lift was installed at 16K. I'll roll with the TSB (assuming they honor it) then get the ECGS bushing if it comes back.

From what I've seen, that's the best route. I'm not even gonna bother with TSB

I'm still under warranty so I am going the TSB route. I'll do the bushing if/when it comes back and I'm out of warranty.

The tech drove the truck with me this morning - he replicated the noise and the dealer ordered parts. He said he sees it a lot with the 4runners as well. Didn't even bat an eye at the lift. I'll get it fixed next week, along with my squeaky clutch pedal

I was afraid they wouldn't be able to replicate so I sat in the passenger seat while he drove it and got to the speed where it was most pronounced (about 40mph in my case).

If you wanted to push it with your dealer you could cite the Magnuson Moss act, and get technical. A mild lift will slightly alter the CV angle but does not (cannot) affect the load on the needle bearing. The CV angle would have to be maxed out and binding for that to happen, in which case you'd have bigger problems.

The tech also mentioned he had a Tundra in with the same problem but the owner hadn't caught it in time and it lunched the CV axle - so it's best to fix it as soon as you notice the problem. Note it was the defective bearing that killed the CV, not the other way around..

yeah I talked to couple of mechs at my workplace they told it could be the needle bearing which I bought the ecgs bushing for or it can be the bearing inside the cv that causes the humming and growl but for now just get the ecgs bushing and see from there @TaterHarry you are lucky to get your truck tsb with lift though. glad someone made it through.

In my area lifted trucks are the norm rather than the exception, and the dealer installs a lot of them. There was a guy getting 5100s and add-a-leaf right behind me at the service counter this morning. I guess I'll count myself lucky and buy a lottery ticket

@tacoshin if the noise/vibe goes away when you engage 4wd it's definitely the needle bearing. CV noise would be constant.

Update- dealer installed the updated TSB needle bearing. The race on the old bearing was plastic - new one was steel so hopefully it'll hold for a while. No vibes so far!
