Installed an OME carrier bearing drop kit. It took about 10 minutes, including a coat or two of Krylon Rust Tough Industrial satin black paint.

No more axle wrap clunk or shudder at take off. Vibes are all gone!

Three weeks ago I scooped a BAJA Mega Mule, BAJA Rack Hi lift mounts (new) and BAJA dual scepter can carrier (new) for a super deal.

    BAJA_mega_mule.jpg

    BAJA_scepter.jpg

I got thinking (Oh-Oh!), so I phoned BAJA and they were kind enough to sell me custom ordered cap mounts and rack plates that are used on their Cap Rack so that I can fit the Mega Mule on the Leer cap rails. The Mega Mule is 4" longer than the regular cap rack, so it fits perfect on the cap. I'll need to weld the 6 plates to the rack and repaint those areas. I'll probably go with Rotopax and get rid of the scepter carrier. My Hi Lift Extreme will fit perfect on the side of the mule.

Can't wait to see how this turns out!

Super! You'll notice the difference right away. I don't think I'll need shims now, but I should go back under and grease the DS... oops!

Did you install your carrier bearing drop kit? I find that my truck now runs a lot smoother even while cruising.

Yup, I have a teeny vibe at take off as well, but the clunk and shudder is all gone. I need to know how to take care of that, but I really don't think it's an issue.

I think that I'm going to take out the diff drop as well when I replace my front springs from 650#/13" to 700#/14", but only after the 1)NorthStar 31M battery, 2) Pelfreybilt cage, 3)10K Winch, and 4) Pelfreybilt HWM are installed. Then it's off for another alignment.

    73 lbs. + 6 lbs. + 65 lbs. + 26 lbs. = 167 lbs. (plus the Avid bar at 32lbs. ) That's 199 lbs. right there. Imagine plate steel?

Its crazy how it adds up. I swear my front bumper with winch are close to 200lbs, plus the skids, battery and cage...needless to say a re-gear is in the future to help with the weight......and maybe 35's lol.

did you have trouble with the northstar fitting? I had to do a little messing around with the stock cables to make it work. Had to make a 3 inch extension. Under the red stock terminal cap is all the stock wiring attached to the extension with a bolt. Wrapped it up so it wouldn't short.

I have just the 31, not the 31m. Really missing the 2 extra post from my old marine battery, which took a shit way too early.

I have the same problem with the reach on the OEM wiring. I've had the 31M battery and tray mocked in and out twice now, scoped what I have to do in the fuse box, and have test fished the Big 3 kit.

It's going in this weekend... honest.
