Good morning and happy Thursday. PMA- Positive Mental Attitude. Or more like PMFA.

Well hope you get over that and quickly! I do a couple side jobs and last night went to a small company and replaced their old Windows Server running VPN, RRAS, and web access using RDP. And an old POS Netgear home router\firewall in front of it. It was about time, the Windows box only showed 2 mb. of RAM and when I put it in 12 years ago it had 4 mb LOL. Installed a Cisco small business router\firewall\VPN first time I've been in a router in a few years. Holy cow has it changed, and for the better! Did the property sheets in a few minutes and plugged it in and everything from the VoIP phones to the servers and workstations were back in business. Think I'll keep my daytime job though :) Got back home and ironed some clothes, found the remote for the subwoofer put in new batteries hit power and back in business. Not sure what happened there but was on a roll so went with it!

Sounds like you're doing well with it all Tim! I am hoping to be done by Sunday, and just doing the furniture piece. Knocked apart an old octagon table in the corner last night bought in the early 80's and pulled out all types of stuff I had forgotten about. And threw away a lot. Need to get a few of the VCR tapes digitized before they fall apart. Saturday will be a run to the dump and I can fill the back of the truck now. It is the get the living room back in order that is going to be hard for me, but the main thing I'm doing. Kind of wish I would had built my own furniture around the electric fireplace but realistically making time to do that just would never happen. Good luck on the BluRay player shopping!

So, yesterday was an interesting one. I took the day off to deal with the truck and get everything settled before the holidays are upon us.
Planned out everything for months, arrive early pull grill, wetsand hood, repaint light spots on grill, then final buff of hood by paintshop.
So I call at 8am to say I'm on the way. My guy texts back, says wait, not ready. So I wait till 8:30, then 9, then I call. He says something came up, but he will make it work.
So I get over there around 9:30. And wait. He is on the phone and on online auto auction. He needs to go downtown for a meeting, so we will do the hood now, grill at noon when he gets back.
So we walk over to the bodyshop that did my hood (my guy leases that operation to them, long story) They weren't ready for the hood till noon, so sorry.
Ok, I guess I can kill 2 hours by going over to my brother-in-laws. Helping him wash his Taco and pulling my grill. So times goes by, 11, then 12, no calls
At noon I know the bodyshop guys are at lunch so, without my guy calling, I wait some more. Get tired of waiting at 1, so I head over to the bodyshop.
Their guys are swamped and even more stuff got piled on. Sorry, but it won't happen today. I speak with the owner, great lady, she wishes they had known about the hood sooner. It seems my guy didn't tell them there was a problem. There has been a problem since August and he didn't mention it to the bodyshop till three days ago. I vow to kill him slowly one day.
So while we talk about cars and stuff, my guy calls and says he will be back in 20 minutes. He actually does arrive, but now it's getting close to 2pm. OK, time for the grill.
We go over to the shop (walking distance) and prep the grill. He grabs the paint but there's a problem. It's Toyota charcoal tint that gets mixed with Stoneguard for texture.
Can't just spray it by itself, cause it won't set. So.... to skip some details I find myself driving to the paint store to have them add in the appropriate chemicals. I get back around 3pm. No one is there, Brighthouse came to discuss new phone service at the other shop, but he will be right back. The center of the grill needs taping, perhaps I could do that. OK, so I tape my own grill. Not my materials, so I use a lot of tape and paper, wrap it like a mummy.
Now it's 3:30 and no sign of him, so I walk back to the other shop and stare at the Brighthouse sales guy till he gets nervous. I did take the day off for this.
My guy gets the hint and we go back to do the grill. He mixes in some other stuff, loads the gun and..
And we actually paint the grill surround (Much rejoicing), takes all of 15 minutes. Two coats, looks great. Has to dry, so I go home without a grill. It's 4pm. My guy is off to the auction. He will call me later about the hood, he never calls.

Today I took the truck back for the hood. Dealing directly with the bodyshop this time. They took the truck right back for sanding. That's a good sign.
Hopefully, they will have it done soon and my wife can drive me back to get it. Fingers crossed, please pray for me. This only took 3 months to get this far.

The bodyshop folks have actually been good. It would have been fixed by now if I had known to contact them directly. I'm beginning to think my guy has ADD.
