I love hearing things like this. Great on you guys.

I'm 29 with a mortgage, 2 kids and my Taco. It's a painful feeling when the bank account is down to pennies every month but it's a successful feeling knowing everything is paid on time every month.

    Work work work work work

Just hope you don't lose your job or get hurt and can't work. Deciding between getting rid of the House or one of the kids would be tough!

23 and bought my TRD OR myself. Just because he's young doesn't mean he can't buy nice things with his paycheck.

yessir! I wish I had a camera when I went to the dealer, the woman who does financing for the dealer tried to get me to switch to using them instead of getting a loan from the bank i had already been approved with. When I told her I got approved for a 25K loan at 1.89% her mouth DROPPED. She looked at me like I had grown a 3rd eye, and didn't even say they could match it hahahaha she kinda just walked away.

Smart kid don't let dealers play that tier crap, I demanded a set rate and term and got it. If they do enough business with Toyota financial and it's a new vehicle they can make it work usually regardless of "tier". It's all a profit game.

Yep. Learned with age you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Plus people make mistakes and it's just a truck still sucks though.

I am 58 and bought my own truck. When I was a kid I saved paper route money (job now extinct) and paid $1000 cash for my 1st car, 1971 Dodge Charger with 50k miles, back in 1975. Then my Dad made me earn enough for tags and insurance. That car sat in the yard nearly 2 months. At the time I thought how cruel my Dad was. Now after having raised 3 kids it was a great valuable life lesson that I passed down to my kids (well at least 1/2 of it).

Yeah I guess everyone was not like me and pissed away there money on Budweiser & marijuana starting in my early teens and threw away 32 years of my life. Been sober 16 years now, (the longest stretch of sobriety in my lifetime) I'll be 55 on January 1st so I'll never have nothing in the rest of my lifetime unless I win the Illinois lottery. Damn sure will never be able to buy another new truck...

Glad you had a good upbringing. Sounds like your parents raised a productive young man with the knowledge to have a good job so he can enjoy nice things at a young age and continue on the path of life self proficient. Wish I could of been so blessed.

Thought I'd chime in with everyone. 23 years old and bought my sport on my own. Put 12k down and could go in tomorrow and pay the thing completely off if I wanted.

    Us millennials aren't all worthless.
