Access Cab, 6-ft. Long Bed, Utility Package. $26,420 MSRP + destination

Contract signed for $28,221 including taxes and fees, out the door.

Not amazing, but I figured $28,346 for 5% off MSRP plus taxes and fees here so I'm happy enough. Truck should get here in 6 weeks. I'm off to buy wheels and tires to make it mine :)

I entertained the idea of getting a 17 while I was at the dealer yesterday replacing my leaf springs per recall. Made it seem like I wanted to walk out the door in a new 17. They offered to to give me 18k trade in value for my 07 dcsb 4x4 trd offroad tacoma. Ended up getting the price of a 17 dcsb 4x4 trd off-road tacoma to about 36k and some change with 0 down 475/m. Was tempting but didnt feel like having a truck payment again lol

I'm new to this Forum, but should have my special order Tacoma Off Road in this week or next! MSRP of 41,296, invoice of $38,699 (I added TRD Pro Exhaust, Skid Plate, JBL, Bed Extended and a couple of other things).

I work in sales at a Toyota Dealer in Iowa. I'm selling all of my Tacoma's at invoice (other than Pro's). Feel free to contact me if you want me to look up an invoice on any in stock new Tacoma across the country.

Also, I have a white M/T TRD Pro coming in that is not spoken for. That's the only Tacoma I can't sell for invoice.

If I'm not aloud to post this stuff on this forum let me know and I will take it down.

Is it normal now to place a vehicle deposit online as opposed to signing a contract at a dealership?

Crafty dealerships. Alright, just wanted to make sure i wasn't the only one doing this haha. I've only ever heard of deposits being made in person. But since i'm a few hours away, it makes sense to do it online. My taco ownership is getting closer.

You got that truck for about $2k under dealer invoice. Even if there's $1k holdback on tacos right now (which is probably high) then the dealer would still be losing in the deal.

How did you manage such a good deal?

I don't go to a dealership until it is time to buy. I look around online to see who is offering what kind of discounts then start there. Then I email other dealerships within an hour or so, say ___ is what I want, ___ is what other dealerships are offering, what can you offer? Tell them straight out that I'm going to buy from whoever has what I want at the best price. Got to $3700 off, next dealership offered $3800, then others offered to match it. Saw a dealer about 30 minutes away had what I was looking for, plus the step tubes which I didn't want, but was told they could take them off. I assumed from the price as well.

Went to that dealership to buy, they had already agreed on the $3800 off, and would take the step tubes off, but not from the price. So I agreed to pay $400 for them instead of the sticker $650, so got another $250 off bringing the deal to $4050 off MSRP. Had just planned on using Navy Federal @ 2.29% over 72 months, but Toyota offered 2.24% over 72 AND I got another $500 off for military discount. So $4550 off total.

    MSRP: $34,893 (Including Freight)
Negotiated price: $32,881 (Including Freight and Dealer Fee) By my calculations thats ~$500 over invoice
+ $1,350: 5.15% Virginia Sales Tax, Title and Tags
    - $1,000 Toyota Military Rebate
    = 33,231 OTD

What were your fees and tax costs? Were they included in the price you broke down above?

Again, did you have a trade-in?

These prices are why I'm glad I got a used second gen.

Too rich for my peasant blood.

I priced out a trd sport, would have cost me 40,000$+ including interest and tax.:stirthepot:

Traded my '16 Tundra Crewmax 1794. Was $50,930 and bought it for $44,876. Traded it in for $42k so lost $2,876 on that - but that's really not bad for trading in a < year old truck. In excellent condition KBB says trade in is $42,626. Very good condition $41,846 so I think $42k was fair. Very nice truck, but too nice in a way cause I didn't want to mess it up. And too big for some (somewhat minor) off roading I do, along with camping and hunting.

I don't pay sales tax. My home of record (state) for the military doesn't require me to pay sales tax on vehicles purchased outside of that state while I'm active duty.

So MSRP was $40,857 and got it for $36,307. Then $499 dealer fees (pretty standard across most dealerships and not a price I put into the truck itself), and will be around $100 or a little more for registration.

Total, OTD cost about $36,900 - 36,950 after registration goes through
