What would anyone @Headstrong think the difference is between the 6112s and the 5100s??

I have the 5100s but just bought 3 pc skid plate armour From Mobtown @ 1/4 steel plate that shit is heavy duty. I 'm wondering now if I should upgrade the 5100s to the new ones and get 887 springs??

I know it all comes down where/how I'm wheeling. I didn't expect that Mobtown gear to be so heavy duty.... just the front skid is like 80#s. It should survive a bomb blast!

 

I believe the 6112 is larger in diameter, therefore more oil, therefore less heat buildup.

 

Here's the problem I'm having. I've had two alignments done and aftermarket ucas put on and spacer in the coilovers. And the feathering is across the whole dr side tire

I can see in your pic your tires are not aligned to spec or even close and why your tires are feathering. I have a very similar setup and my tires do NOT lean in at the btm.

I believe you have too much positive camber.

Didn't the folks that did the alignment give you a printout with the specs??

I took my truck to my dealer and they got my alignment VERY close to stock spec, yours not so much from the looks in the pic. Tires leaning in at the btm - that causes the issues you're having with your tires.

 

scared they will do to the 6112 what they did to the 5110 for the 16 model. happy with my 05-15 6112/5160 combo(until i saw 8xxx series at sema!)

 

What is it they did?

 

shorten it up. reduced travel something like 20%. forget the exact number and i dont want to do anymore maths tonight
