3rd gen is a dumpster fire. I rarely go in there. What's sad is that other than a few loud members it's mostly 2G guys stirring the pot. I like my 3G, maybe more than I liked my 2G. I liked the mods of my 2G more, but the actual part of the truck I interface with (the interior) is SO much better. Plus, it's got a moonroof and a stick, two items my last didn't and items I really, really wish I had. The motor isn't as good, and the power delivery is definitely weird, but otherwise, I do enjoy it. If anyone local wants to take mine for a spin, they are more than welcome to.

It's official, I've yet to own a vehicle I haven't changed out the wheels on. I may have a problem. I will be refinishing these back to the OEM silver, but admittedly I like the blue more than I should. However, it's not in the greatest condition (scratches/chips).

The money that bought these was earmarked for BFGs.

Granted I don't have previous Tacoma experience to base my opinion on, I have to say that overall I love my truck so far. I did choose to go with the MT based on reading some things that people were complaining about the AT and the fact that it brought the price point down to what I wanted. I'm coming from a GMC Envoy that had the V-8 in it so I knew that I wasn't going to have the power that I was used to but I'm happy with what the engine does for me. It does seem like almost every thread is about people bitching about their trucks and it's the same people over and over. I would love to see how people who aren't even aware of this website think their 2016 Tacoma is doing for them.

I love my 15. There's some I'd like to change but can't really justify the money. The interior is the only reason I considered trading mine in for a newer one.

Those are pretty! And yeah I hear you about the 3G forum. It's crazy in there. My one thing about sunroofs is that they user lower the ceiling by a couple inches, which is a big deal for me. My mother had a 2009 4Runner and I would have to angle my head into the sunroof area while sitting in the passenger seat.

I can understand that. I had never owned a vehicle with a sunroof before, which was a pretty hard requirement this go-round. My first car had a model with one, but I couldn't find/afford one, and then the Xtracab was a function of what was still available in the Northeast since most rotted away. The STi didn't have a sunroof option in the GD cars unless I wanted the Limited, which I had zero interest in and the 2G Tacoma didn't have a sunroof option. When I had a chance to get a new one and could configure it with a manual and sunroof, I didn't care what boxes I had to check to get that combo.

After driving an '07 TRD Access Cab and now my '10 SR5 Access Cab I can say I don't want anything but an access cab. At least until kids... But the TRD features were nice, and manual would be awesome. I wish!

I like how the AC looks better than the DCSB, but it is tons more practical with future life plans. I always felt the DCLB looked awkward at stock height and amazing lifted, whereas I thought the DCSB looked great at stock height and a minor lift, but more awkward with a larger lift and big tires.

My perfect Tacoma would probably be my 2013 exterior with the 2016 interior and features, 2016 transmission and 2013 motor.

Ideally for me I have the single cab but if not I'd go access cab. I do get a fair amount of use from the 6 foot bed being a homeowner, especially drywall and plywood. I rarely need to have more than one other person in my truck and if that changes I just use Cupcake's Rav4.

    Overall harness is done... Finally

Just need to wait for the fuse box and new fuse panel to arrive, size up the right length battery lines, mount the box/breaker/ground strips and then wire it all up.

Will be taking off my, never used, BFG rugged fail as my spare if anyone is in need of a tire.
If not, it is getting trashed.

Do you have a 285 stuffed underneath the truck? If so, I'm surprised it fits there.
