    Maybe they should learn a trade?
    All the licensed trades are hurting for help.
    I wasn't good in school that didn't involve hands on. When the Army turned me down I went to work in the oilfield.

    Same as everybody else...
    My step son was terrible in school, barely passed from one grade to the next, discipline problems and a bad attitude. I spent more time in the Principles office for him than I did when I was going through school. He dropped out in his senior year and got a job as a landscaper. Well he turned it around, got his GED and took college classes and worked his way up in a large national commercial landscape company to assistant branch manager. Very proud of him and all that he's accomplished. There is hope for anyone at any age to turn themselves around.

    I suggested that for the younger one to go to a trade school no interest in it he has a car she bought him .. ( I lost the argument against that) he has no clue and essentially will only work on it if I or a friend of mines oldest son who is into mustangs will do it with him mostly he wants it done for him and just wants to stand around and text ..He is a clothes horse GQ kind of kid at the moment. And yeah 1shifter he is in the discipline problems and a bad attitude boat been arrested twice hell he got tazed by a friend of mine lol NO I DID NOT SET IT UP ... Him and 2 other idiots were breaking into cars and got caught he ran and refused to show his hands when ordered too so .. And that still did not teach him anything the first time he got arrested was for what .. Yep selling drugs in school right under a damn camera and who put him up to it the middle soon to be cellar dweller brother. He got slaps on the wrist but because of the missing of school he quit why because he was to embarrassed to be 17 going into 10th grade..

    I tried to teach him how to cut hinges into a door once so he could do the work to replace a bathroom door at my GF's place that he punched a hole in. Yeah the lessons ended after third time he tossed my wood chisel down on the bench stating he doesn't give a shit his mother could just pay to have the door replaced . I tossed him out of my shop , I am sorry perhaps that was harsh but I couldn't beat his ass which is what would have happened if I did that with my grandfather, father or even stepfather. For the record I have taught many young folks how to do metal work etc I have a process show the tool , how it is used , use it to do the job then turn it over to the trainee using junk stuff for them to learn on first so mistakes don't matter etc been there done that probably a hundred times .

    His whole attitude was he didn't think he should have to learn this stuff since his mother could afford to just pay to have it done. I suggested military nope the charges don't affect that since they are all minor etc but no HS degree none will take him . And he has no interest in serving I said hey learn a trade get paid and get college money and get out of the this state for a while nope .He started back to night school for GED but isn't going that we are aware of , he finally found another job been fired from the last 3 for ..not showing up ie didn't feel like it . So he works retail well for a week so far lol. I could go on and on with the stupid shit he has done and the cellar dweller but in the end they are the only ones who are going to make the choice to put on their big boy pants and be adults . I just try to guide and back up the GF since their real father is a waste she dumped him about 15 years ago sadly he is the role model these two seem to follow :{

    I really hope both of these to do the same turn around it is just the never ending Drama and BS lack of respect to their Mother which lol they only do over the phone or not when I am around . I won't tolerate it and they know it they push a little with me but not much .LOL The youngest still thinks I some how knew they were breaking into the cars and got my friend to respond to the call and Taser him lol. The cellar dweller did have a umm interaction with someone else I know but he is not aware that I do.. To no avail however:{

    What a shame.
    Not about the taze!
    I'd boot them out if they're not working and pay rent of chores in order to stay.
    It'll do them good. I'm sure you know that.

    Just saw this. We get cheaper ones since they'll not have them on long.

    I do she however... Is a mom and feels that some of this is her fault . When she ditched the waste of an EX she was busting ass working her shifts are 12 hours plus as a nurse . So she feels if she was there more ... anyone who has been divorced knows the guilt trip you put on yourself and yes even some kids learn to use that guilt like these two have. I have told these two they do not realize how good they have it yeah did the when I was younger speech rode a bike to work at 16 till I saved enough to by a moped then saved enough to buy a car. Paid my mom room and board and got my own place at 18 ish then wanted more metal work training so joined the service at 19 and change. They have been to my home seen the truck, shops, camper etc I asked them how do you think I got these things ??? I get the contrite answer well you get paid a lot of money .. No not really for what I do we are actually the lowest paid in the surrounding states . I did ask them how do you think you get to get paid a decent check both were like well you have training etc it has not dawned on them that I was not born with the knowledge I have nor was their mother as an RN we WORKED for it . They fit right into the snowflake generation of " I should be paid more because it is fair not because I earned it" sigh one day maybe I have hope but as the saying goes hope for the best prepare for the worst. My GF and I have had this discussion she knows and understands where I stand I will help her and support her in dealing with these two but they will never live in my home nor do I trust them in my home both have done drugs and we think still are to a degree and both have stolen from other people and her. I am civil to them and they to me and to their mother in my presence but I do not go out of my way to engage either of them in conversation etc as I do not like being lied to and neither of them are very good at it lol

    That's a pile of parts.
    No way I have the time for that anymore.
    I'm hoping for decent weather soon around holidays to do my coolant flush and hoses.

    This is a must to burp the cooling system correctly. Also I used to drill a small hole in the top of my thermostat when replacing it on my El Camino.

    Good morning and happy Friday!
    WTH? It is 11 here and 0 real feel. That's it I'm moving to Alaska! Going to be cold might as well have real hunting and fishing a couple of weeks out of the year :rofl:
    Half a foot of snow tomorrow then gets below zero and looks like it stays that way awhile. Oh joy.

    I put the silk long johns on this morning and won't take them off until spring. Well not exactly this same pair LOL but you get the idea!
