Well, I broke it because I'm an idiot -- I'd rather just pay for it myself.

I didn't tie it down, but it seems to stay put. It's a heavy bugger (I'm guessing around 75lbs) and I cut it snug around the wheel wells, so there's minimal shifting. I'm planning on getting a Leer cap in early January, so I'm not overly concerned with theft.

Well let me entertain you with a tale of stupidity and overzealous installation. I got to the station today and did my usual truck check and chores and such and then washed and cleaned the shit outta my truck. Then I went to install my mirror riser (http://www.birddawgindustries.com/mirror-riser.html) and it said to just pull on the mirror to remove it. I gave 'er a good ol tug and pulled the whole mount off, with most of the glass that the mount glues to. So now I feel like a grade-a idiot.

I can attach pictures for the shame if you want.

Or just use your brain! There's a bolt that you need to, you know, unscrew.

Best thing I've read all week! It's funny how when we were younger we didn't really listen to our parents and as we get older we have those "oh crap my parents were right" moments. I know I have had more than my share of those moments.

With all the Tacoma around, we are creating global warming. It did drop -8 at night time but wasn't motivated to snap another pic

You are right, I found it on the 2015 RV4 Limited, it is about $100 but does not have the wide angle insert. Too bad!

Damn Dude, you must have really pulled on it. I'm going to order the same mirror riser, at least I now know to be a lot more gentle.

Be careful -- I'm now hearing that it doesn't fit this generation. I will let you know on Monday once I get a new windshield.

Thanks Alex, thought when I read about the mount that it said in the write up it did fit the 3rd Gen. Haven't ordered it yet, will wait and see once you get your new windshield in. Again sorry about your windshield.
