The only change that I know about was the level of membership for the rebate. I snuck in right before the change I think.

First snow of the year, we got 3" last night. I got first tracks in my neighborhood. Tires were great. Hardly any slip in 2wd and awesome in 4hi.

No complaints here either. Been running them for a couple of months now. Still quiet and smooth. The big test start on Dec.15. Driving approx. 5000 miles from Ohio thru Colorado to Springdale, Utah then to Moab then back to Ohio. Et.2 week adventure

You don't have a picture of the coupon/form you used? I'd hate to join for 50$ and then not qualify because I bought them months ago.

I figure it's a good cause regardless of any perks.

I'd think that Discount Tire would be the best person to ask about that.

I just received my treadlightly membership. At the $50 level you get both the falken tire rebate form and a discount tire direct rebate. I took advantage of the $75 rebate discount tire was doing during cyber monday so DTD rebate that came with the treadlightly memebership.

Correct...for the falken rebate, you need to write you tread lightly membership number on it. Must be submitted by the end of the year.

285/70/R17 Love these tires!!! Discount has a great price on them, but I bought mine on Amazon for $175 each. Between the credit card they give you and the money I saved, it's basically the same money spent.

So we got about 4-6 inches last night, had about 1.5 on the road this morning going to work.
So to prep for this I tossed some more weight in the bed last night in the hopes that would help snow traction. Floating around 250-275 pounds now in the bed, before it was about 100ish. It was better, but truck still wanted to wonder and had very minimal braking grip. 4wd helped but turning was done more with throttle then anything else.

My feeling is they do not inspire a lot of winter confidence. Checked tread depth yesterday since I was a little curious. All 4 are now under 10/32 of a inch with 6,300 miles on them.
I do have an email into Falken as well. So they added me to their watch list for accelerated wear.

You sound like a guy who needs Blizzaks for winter. True winter tires make a substantial difference.

I know what you mean about the "winter confidence" in a tire. My wife had Hakka's on her civic. That thing was like a tank with those things. Would handle better than anything I have ever driven in the snow. Could only really get a few seasons out of them though.

probably going to toss on a set of Cooper M&S winter tires. debating the whole "to stud or not to stud" right now. had them on my 2wd ranger and thing handled more then it should have.

I ran Blizzaks on my jetta and loved them. But cant justify the price jump from the coopers, even studded the coopers come in around $160 less for a set.

Yeah its always nice when the truck/car feels sure footed on the road. I've driven through enough stuff that I'm pretty confident in snow, but I dont like the feeling of being on the edge every time i go out.
The hope would be that splitting the mileage between the two sets I'll be ok

Had Toyo A/T's, Duratracs, KO2's and now the Falkens. So far the Falkens are my favorite as far as the road is concerned. Need to get some snow to see how they stack up.

Mounted and balanced. Gonna dial in the psi tomorrow. They feel great at 36 though. Now I have a gently used set of Dynapro atm's on OEM steel wheels for sale.
