    We got one more spot open. December 17th-19th. Its not really a crazy 4x4 trail or anything but should be fun.

    Happened to me twice in the 1 1/2 years I've owned the truck. And it happened after I put in semi crappy gas (at this knock off place)

    So the guy was the original owner he gave me the factory window stickers and everything. I have a binder of every single thing he's had done to the truck , from maintenance to upgrades. He said the truck had been sitting for awhile since he got his new toy. I bought a set of NGK plugs and a good oil filter do service before the trip. From what I've read and I just spoke with a Toyota guy they had a problem with the main grounding on some of the v6 models. He told me he's encountered and resolved this but upgrading to a large gauge wire from the battery to the chassis. The belts all look great, brand new k&n air filter, I just had the alignment done 10 minutes ago. New fancy pads in the front, (could use a new set of rotors but I'll wait till after the trip, need money for gas lol).

    @YotaGurlIAm id say about that 1 Mississippi, I'm just not used to it. Even my higher compression motor in my Camaro starts up faster. Maybe I'm just one of those guys that over analyzes things lol.

    Thats good that you have all the paperwork. Always helpful. Well hopefully its just that wire issue the toyota guy mentioned. I hear ya on over analyzing every little thing. hahaaha I'm like a hypochondriac when it comes to some little sound/vibration.

    At least you guys don't have the squeaky clutch pedal. Only solution for that is loud music.lol

    But honestly if I hear a noise I turn down the music all the way and just listen and listen until I figure it out... usually don't have any noises that I don't know what it is :notsure:

    And that's why I'm down to wheel with folk like yourselves. You address funny noises. Trucks make truck noises sure. Especially if you off-road them. But certain noises you can just tell aren't right.

    @Kens04Taco ,

    Hopefully that wiring issue does the trick. Keep us posted. I enjoy learning about common truck issues of all generations as well as other vehicles.

    @snowboard704 ,

    Youre doing the Mojave right? Big storm coming in possibly next Thursday. Not sure how that will effect Mojave but one thing I know for sure is I'm jealous. I wanna run that bitch in the rain. Probably way more fun and far less dusty. I'm not a fan of muddying but when its for an adventure in down.

    Yes sir, doing the mojave with a few others leaving saturday morning and running it East-->West. Been checking the weather periodically and well be covering such a big stretch I think it’ll be okay, and many have already taken off work so unless it becomes too dangerous (possible flash flood chance) I think well still be on for it! Im also not a fan of mud.

    Just checked the weather 10 day for cast for the “middle” section of trail and it claims 10% chance. Barstow looks clear as well. Laughlin looks great as well, mid 60s-low 70s. A little rain couldn’t hurt though, like you said it would keep the dust down and I’ve got mostly water proof gear anyways :D

    Heck yeah! Party on. Its not a real adventure unless there's some challenges. If real off grid overlanding was easy everyone would do it, right? Just be very cautious of soda lake. If theres just a little water I would suggest driving around it. Its a huge lake and to get stuck in the middle of it would fuck up day 3. Your last day. You'd have to miss Travelers Monument but that just means you have to go run it again. Not a bad problem to have. I emailed Mike the gpx files I have. Sounds like you all are on track to have a blast.
