Thanks to the Mediterranean climate found in SoCal (what it's called in geologist speak?) the rust-till-you-bust mod isn't one of my mods. My dad's Tundra back in Maine... well yeah.

Yeah I wish to Christ people would just be forced to use winter tires in the winter if they think it's so horrible, and they could simply sand instead of spraying salt concoctions. Same goes for the unpaved roads out here..... just leave them dusty and muddy. Stop straying frame-fucker on the roads!

The pic in your signature, are those the OEM wheels? If so, are those 16s?

DOH. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Not sure why I didn't think of that. Went out and looked at it, and you are right, original tire size is 225/75/15 on 15x7 wheels.

I was thinking the current tire sizes looks too puny. 225/75/16. But I guess that is what Toyota wanted for my truck!!!!!!!

Are you referring that to your spare? What does your spare look like?

Not sure what spare looks like. I was saying per the door sticker, my OEM DLX had 225/75/15. It is a 6 lug.

Ok so you're positive that your spare is a 6 lug?

    Yes

It is a 6 lug truck brother. I guess those weird 3 spoke like wheels are the base model wheels. They come in 15, and that is what the OEM was.

is it mandatory to have winter tires in Quebec? I remember working up there a few years ago when the law was going in effect and winter tires that year where outrageous price wise.

Yes. Whenever I go up there, everyone has winter tires, which is mandated.

Alright just making it clear that there was only 3 wheels offered for the 1st gen, not counting the Ivan Stewart's. But it's not enough to debate about it.

Both Ontario and Quebec now I believe. I live in BC though and its nothing but bald tires on German imports in the metro Vancouver area. Dangerous place for pedestrians in the winter. Once you get out of the SW corner of the province most people are pretty good winter drivers.

I am not familiar enough to know what wheels were offered. Just trying to learn.

    What I thought were 6 lugs = 16"

But I learned that 01+ 6 lug can have factory 15s as well.

I can't find any pic's of my first Toyota p/u but it was a base although I di spend some extra money and got the extend cap. it was a 1991 extend cap I think they called it. crank windows no cruse no delay wipers (or at least I can't remember them) It did have A/C only because all of the ones on the lot had it. man o man I wish I still had it.

Sure enough, there is a 15" primary wheel, not spare, that was offered with the double cab poverty spec. It is Toyota part number: 42601-0W020
Here is a crappy pic I stole from the internets.

    aly69353.jpg
It appears this part number was used with the tacomas from 1995-2004.
