I don't have any issues with the F150 so no reason to join a forum for it. I wouldn't have been here if I didn't have so many issues with the shifting on my Tacoma. There must be a reason your here though?

No need to get defensive... you felt your Tacoma sucked so you traded for an F150. I did the opposite. I was simply letting the OP know it goes both ways and to do his research.
Lets be honest here buying a new vehicle is hit or miss these days unfortunately. Knowing what to look for on the lot helps. I got burned not knowing what to look for on the f150 and I wasn't going to make the same mistake with the Tacoma and that is why I am here... I did a lot of research before buying that truck. I passed on a few until I found one issue free.
Here is a list to look for/know about on the f150 (Since I know most of them I will give you a short list:)

1 Doors do not line up from the factory (they sent mine to a body shop within a few weeks / fixed it marginally)
2 Wind noise from drivers window (intermittent.. people are fixing it by putting extra weather stripping in window which is crazy)
3 Imperfections in the paint (obvious and easy to see in phone pics)
    4 Steering wheel leather/paint peeling
5 Heated steering wheel not working (many threads)
6 Eco Boost catching fire (yes you read that correctly.. .catching fire)
7 Oxidation of the aluminum in the rust belt (fair enough.. b/c anything will rust/oxidize with salt but people think aluminum can't corrode which is funny)
8 Tailgate and hood out of alignment with fenders (very common)
9 Plastic grill peeling after 6 months
10 The sync system in the '15s is garbage... the sync 3 with '16 apparently is better (no experience with that)
11 Transfer case / rear end clunk (everyone seems to have this.. fix is dealer applying grease at intervals which lasts for a while or after market driveshaft
12 Front hubs grind and cause a clicking noise.. If you search IWE you will find enough info to keep you busy for an evening.

There is a lot more. Those are just the common ones http://www.f150forum.com/f118/2015-16-ford-f-150-tsb-recall-listing-316605/ << have a look around

Been a Ford Guy all my life. Had some dam good GM vehicles too. I've been lucky.

    My belief -

They all make GOOD ones, they all make BAD ones. Just got to be LUCKY to pick the right one.

How long does it take to flash the Tranny? A dealer just told my wife 4-5 hours, and the tranny had to be cold? WTF? this is a software update, should take like 5 min..

I had to leave mine all day. They said a master tech has to do it. o_O

On a side note...I went from no shift flare pre-TSB to big shift flare afterwards.

Just released. I've had both. Neither made a difference I don't think. About as much difference as unplugging the battery does (which I did once and it fixed something that came back a few days later).

But...I've never had the issues most people have that the TSB fixes - outside of this forum convincing me my truck sucked.

A lot of my transmission issues are caused by my tire size. Once I regear I think a lot of my issues will go away.

Even though they are doing something about it,
it still shows that sometimes their engineers don't
think things through. They allow high tolerances
    specs for their design schematics.

In addition, to keep costs down,
they out source the part manufacturing to companies
that produce a ton of quantity and really don't care
if the product is good. If they have a defective one,
they just make another and replace.(Disposable mentality)

I had the last of the 2014 F150's built and it was excellent from day 1 until I sold it. It just shows that most first year of new vehicles have problems. Ford is in the third year of the new body and finally have all the kinks worked out. I use that as a reference with my 16 Taco. So all the tranny issues should be worked out when the 2018's hit the lot. Well that's kind of depressing now that I think about it.

They will fix the future and current trans issues with program updates just like the Rev 1 TSB. so I wouldn't be depressed about anything.

And so it is written - Hallelujah !

But for now - Been driving with the TSB (Assumed Rev1) for a couple of days. Still more to test. A definite improvement in shift points. R->D delay gone. Some throttle improvement but still too slow though. Motor still bogs down. Less lunge.

I feel more work needs to be done primarily with throttle pressure. This would get the motor and trans more in sync. If software can solve this and the trans issues, the rocketing effect the motor has above 3k would make this truck a real screamer.

When ECT is off, you have to apply generous downward pressure with your right foot when you need it to get up and go. And it DOES get up and GO.

I haven't tried driving with ECT enabled yet since I got the reflash, because I don't want to mess up the "learning" phase.
Before the reflash, I drove all the time with ECT enabled. The throttle was much more sensitive and I barely needed to press it to accelerate.
A big part of the reason was that the transmission shift points are adjusted when ECT is on, and the RPMs never drop below 1500.
However, there was an annoying hesitation/surge/hesitation behavior when trying to cruise at a constant speed with ECT on that drove me nuts.

I don't have that issue with ECT Off and the Reflash. I continue to be happy so far.

Sorry it took a while to respond. yes I had a few tacos. im done with those piles of dump. I don't troll here as much and my life seems better since I don't hate to drive my vehicle everyday whilst reading this fanboy crap. There has always been great people here but I think the ratio gets worse as time progresses of people that accept a good ass fuckin on a 35K+ truck. For those with truely no issues thank your lucky stars and enjoy your truck but to those accepting sub par quality and denying their issues there is a way out. I used to love tacos but it comes down to what your willing to accept as acceptable operation in a new vehicle. I wish everyone the best but personally lifes too short to get bent over driving a pile of shit. I still like Toyota and enjoy my new 4runner Pro everyday.

What's the latest on the transmission problems? Mines still slips from 3rd to 4th when cold and going up steep incline.
