How do you like the Teton sleeping bag? Looks like a mammoth? I want a double for my RTT!

In on this thread; had no idea it existed. I typically camp about 20 nights/year or so. Most with Scouts, others with TW buddies while wheeling.

How tall are you? At 5'11", I got the LB solely for the ability to lay straight out flat. I'm still glad I got it, but as a DCLB, it's a bit long for a lot of parking spots.

Can anyone tell me the diagonal measurements in the SB? For those who camp in the bed, how does it work out if you're close to 6'?

Have you seen some of these platform setups ? Looks pretty useful for extra sleeping room

I'm 5'8" and don't sleep fully stretched out, sleeping diagonally has not been a problem.

Thanks. I thought I could manage the diagonal, but thought I'd want the extra room as an option more. First truck for me, so it's all a learning experience. I'm still happy with the LB, but may go for a SB when the time comes...hopefully not for several years.

BTW, I like the "710" sticker

I haven't seen all these, but did see tons of others. I did a lot of research on the different options, since I plan to live out of it for the next year while I travel the country. I kept fluctuating between a truck cap with some sort of platform and a Maggiolina RTT, finally deciding on a cap. I just believe the cap will be more useful in the long run and stands out a bit less (less of a draw for those with sticky fingers).

The biggest deciding factor for bed length was my ability to maneuver around in the truck bed. I'm not too tall, but I have a tendency to shift a lot. I figured my choices in a SB would be fetal position on my left or right side. It's my first truck, so everything is a learning experience, the only real downside to the LB is fitting it in some parking spots. I'm still very happy with my decision, but may take a closer look at the SB next time. One thing's for sure, I'm a Tacoma guy for life now!

Well, I don't have any pictures handy (I'm working out of town) but I camp "bigger" than anyone's posts I've seen.

I town a dual axle Boy Scout trailer and haul about 15-30 Scout Tents with me. When the Scouts put them up, I've got some happy city boys seeing the great out of doors w/o "tablets, Iphones, etc.

My Taco pulls that trailer with no problems and my Scouts love to go camping.

I'm 6'4" and love sleeping in the SB. I just sleep with the tailgate down and a tarp-like extension over the end. All the benefits of a SB but still being able to sleep in the back comfortably (which I couldn't do in a LB anyway).

Yeah, every now and then it's nice to be just under 6' :D I can see that setup working at a normal campsite, but I'm sure I'll be doing some WalMart lot camping along the way (another reason I chose the cap vs RTT). It's always great reading how other folks get the job done and sharing ideas. Thanks!
