Going to be tough with that crease. Have you taken it to a dent place to see how much? sometimes your better off with the paintless dent removal some companies provide

Find a good PDR person. Your dealership probably has a contract with one. Ask them who they use and see if they can help. As far as I know, it's hard to remove a dent on a crease in sheet metal. Not sure if yours is on the crease or just near it...

I retract what I said, dry ice method will not work for the location of this dent.

Actually thinking about it, the only dent that might work on is one with minor high spots and a fairly shallow low spot.

    That isn't this dent, regardless.

But that sounds plausible. Heat shrinking is a different process.

Sounds like heat shrinking would damage the paint if the heat is so high... Wouldn't it?

You both are correct I have removed my previous post as it will not work on this location and i was wrong about how hot it needs to be. I should have googled it myself before suggesting it. Its been well over 10 years since i had heard of this method and just recalled it when i read the post.

You get the metal red hot and then quench it, so any paint would be destroyed.

The process/theory of heating up a shallow dent and quenching it to get it to "pop" back would use way less heat, so paint wouldn't be damaged if done carefully.

I still don't think that would work on this dent but I have never looked into PDR. Experienced with traditional body work though.

    No harm done.

I'd deleted a post also before letting it mental marinate. The idea is sound just not for this application. Probably more so on large panels like doors or quarter labels, than this type of thing where there is a lot of structural strength.

Yes, its supposed to be used for shallow dents on larger flat surfaces.

Your best off with a good Dent guy. I've seen many people ruin a Dent that could have been repaired with paintless Dent removal. I'd charge about 100$ for a Dent like that.

Sorry about your dent. I'm no expert, but every time I ask a PDR guy about a dent, 100% of the time I'm told that if it's on a ridge, they can't fix it. I'm sure they could make it better, but you may be looking at a repaint. Most dealer bodyshops aren't body people, they are replace the part people. If you can find a good body man, that can actually work with metal, you might get it done for a few hundred dollars. No way I'd try and get the dent out myself.

If it needs to be painted, make sure you find a guy that can blend paint.
