I would be so all over that! I have a fondness for Damascus steel and consider it a work of art.

Speaking of Damascus, for many years most all US gun manufactures imported shotgun barrels from Belgium. Once in the States they were hammered out and finished at the gun manufactures shop. Very few were done in house from scratch here in the US. Shipping across the Atlantic even in the early 1900's caused damage to a fair number of them, plus salt water corrosion even though they were dipped in sulfuric acid to put a protective coat on them. So it is not uncommon to run across mismatched patterns like this-
    [IMG]

Made a dent in the living room. Not physically thank goodness but from the looks of things will be well worth it. Shit next you know I will be doing window treatments and painting the walls. Flooring is going to wait until the oldest dog has passed and I'm still fighting that. He crashed down the steps tonight and it took him awhile to get up I held him until he could stand and I shook like a leaf.

AV Amp, Subwoofer, Direct TV, Amazon Fire TV, BluRay player, CD Multichanger, SVHS recorder\player, and wifi\router all work. And sitting here listening to the FM tuner and classic rock of all things. At close to reference level pushing all speakers and the sub, just to check for any damage of course.

Used to be addicted to rc 1/8 & 1/5 scale racing.I also used to build alot of models which is why I always liked the rock crawlers for the detail in them but never got one.

I spoke via text with him and offered to purchase a 1/4" slice of it and make paper weight from it. Yeah price was a fair bit higher then I was willing to go. He priced it at 500 ... Sigh ahh well .

If you watch the vid just a 1/4 " thick slice across the bar told him just etch it I will take care of the rest I figured 100 to 150. Nope 500 it is a lot of work etc which it is but...

Saw a guy forge his own knives from old chainsaw blades. Too rich for me but way cool.
