    Hope you find comfort soon.
I'm just beat up from wild youth,1 too many bull rides, years of plumbing. My time as a mechanic was better on my body.
I have a Tens unit. It really helps with the muscle spasms which pull on bones and can take my breath away.
At times I have to crank up the Tens unit to 60ish.

    I know right!
I do like his heating setup. A wood fired boiler out behind the house with water lines buried deep and recirculating into house.
It's unnecessary here. Solar would be most beneficial here.

    We have those up here.
Before we bought this house my FIL had a coal, wood, piggy back boiler. Run coal or wood then when it went out the oil would take off. Was a good setup but he was one of those a little is good, a lot better. Would stoke it to much all the time and would blow the pop off valve. Lol. But I ran it one week by myself during the coldest week of the year and it was awesome.

Just time went to PT eval yesterday start next week 3 times a week. Pt guy says the reason the bicep at the elbow is aching is the nerves being pressed from the swelling / scaring at the shoulder joint . It will pass eventually just annoying as all hell lol . I hear the tens units work well for people backs Knock on wood I never did serious damage to my back I know to many people who have my father included and yeah screw that lol
