    Hey guys first post here!

After reading the post on the remote start originally started by nickj I decided to join this forum after a long time lurking.

Last night I made the hour and a half hike to his house and picked up the remote start so I could install this morning. Thanks Nick for letting me get this! I was skeptical since I have never done anything like this before but I decided to go for it because of price and how cold it is lol

My vehicle is a 2016 Tacoma OR

Here is the only tools I used

I will say the directions are pretty straight forward and very easy to follow. The wire colors and photos of the connectors made it a breeze to install.

Now you do have to remove some interior pieces. I removed the kick plate which was 2 phillips screws and a 10mm and the steering column cover which was just two more phillips screws. The start button wire that needed to be tapped was easy as well.

All wires were separated off so no cutting or modifying anything just plug and chug.
Programming couldn't be easier no sequence just plug the module in and hit the start button twice with your foot off the brake, green light and your good! Once it was programmed and working I tucked it between the BCM just like nickj posted. Looks really nice.

Im really happy with this mod it took me a hour and a half give of take and works perfect. So far it the farthest I have tried it was in the store some 130ft!

Hopes this helps some people! I wish I would have taken more photos when everything was apart but I was jamming out to music and reading directions so I kinda forgot

Great kit thanks for the hard work nickj and KB Voodoo

Nice review Winston and was nice to meet you. Thanks for coming last night instead of today.

Sounds like you did a clean install and I like that you taped the entire wire loom. Sometimes its hard to deal with because it gets stiff so i dont do that but it does look nice. Glad you were able to get it done before the storm comes too! Also the distance is really good so you should have no problem starting the car from your apartment. The parking lights do go on when running so you will be able to tell if it started.

    Stay warm buddy!

Does the truck remain locked after it is started?

Yes, it by passes the door lock so that it stays locked when you use remote start.

KB Voodoo is where they can be purchased from now. It was created by a TW Member nickj718 but the demand was too great for him to produce.

Just get a friend/family member to help you to tell what color each wire is. In dont think it would be that hard to find a little assistance.

Dont like to bother others with my own personal stuff. Especially comfort mods. Even more so for more dollars I can pay someone to do it.

But I like to do my own stuff... how dare I?!?!

I get that. I told a friend I ordered it and without needing or asking for help he replied "When are we going to install it?". Its not always an inconvenience to others depending on their interests.

This is only for Tacomas with the push start. Did any 2nd gens have a push start? KB Voodoos site say "2016-2017 Remote start" so I believe the answer is no.

I looked at the site too; I think we are out of luck. Great price though.

Honestly it would be tough doing it if your color blind. You have to use connectors to connect wires it's not direct plug and play.

Sorry no easy solution like this for the 2nd gen
