I know the offroad has the rear diff locker..
The sport has bigger rims and a non functional hood scoop..
    But what else?

    Which one has better suspension?

Could someone sum it up in easy terms an idiot could understand ?
    :turtleride:
    Please and thank you!

P.s. mainly referring to third gens.
I had the second gen trd off road and loved it.

The sport has an air dam as well. Off road does not.

The better suspension is only for you to determine. I personally like the sport suspension, but I also enjoy riding a monoshock motorcycle. A test drive of each is the only way for you to know.
The other is how you will use the truck. Are you going to have a pavement princess or do you venture onto the road not taken often.
Next is just personal preference on looks.
So to break it down for an idiot to understand, Priority ranking
    1. Use
    2. Feel
    3. Looks

Edit: If you want all three, get the PRO.

I drive in deep mud and off road alot.

Tomorrow I'm going hunting and I'm expecting to romp through about 1-2 feet of mud in my 2.7 4x4 sr to get to my hunting spot. I do this pretty often, and I really miss my trd off road.

I am primarily concerned with going off road, and being able to safely make it home. When I hit the trails I am always taking the safest line to get to my destination, and always avoid getting stuck.

I just like getting out to places where most people can't. Those are the best places for hunting, fishing, camping, biking, etc.

Little tree air fresheners. Clazzio black leather seat covers.
    Off road is better!
Sport for if you're just looking to mall crawl and have a pavement princess. Just my thoughts, I've had both.
I prefer the off road. Crawl control is pretty neat. Have a rear locker, I've never used the rear locker however. For all basic 4wd needs the sport does great. But the Off-road has the bells and whistles people think they need.

The off road has more off road features. As to which one is better is all personal preference. I like the sport for a little smoother ride and don't do much off road.

    I don't care about looks.
I want to feel safe when I end up in deep mud.

The Offroad is probably the better choice for you then. You get multi terrain selection, crawl control, locking e-diff and Bilstein suspension thats tuned a bit softer for offroad specifics

Also, I am a manual transmission fanboy.

I really wish I could get the off road in a an access cab. My second gen trd off road was an access cab.

Truck manufactures need to pull their heads out of their asses, they need to offer more manual transmission options, and get more of them on the dealer lots.

Thanks, for some reason I thought the sport had better suspension.

So just for the sake of observation, what advantages do the sport have over the off road ( if any ) mechanically speaking.

    1) The Off Road has the enhanced traction systems.
    2) The Sport has a fake hood scoop and colored bumpers.

It is surprising how many pay so much to have #2 when for about the same they could have #1.

The Off Road DC now has a long bed available.

What region are you in? I can build a ACSB trd offroad on the toyota site. No manual though (maybe only in my region)

Getting the Manual on the Off Road removes the Crawl control. CC is for the Auto Only.
