This knife's blade is made of Stainless steel - 8CR13MOV and from what I have read on knife forums, it's cheap Chinese but keeps an edge + can be sharpened easily. I have a super coupon for $9.99 and has decent reviews too.

I just looked that make up at the walmart website and it's made from the same Stainless steel - 8CR13MOV, so I may just pocket the extra $15 and go with the HF.

If you are familiar with sharpening your own knives and they are the same material I'd say go for it then. Being able to put an edge on something yourself makes a big difference.

8CR13MOV is really common in knifes under $20-30. I have a few Spyderco knives with that blade steel. Doesn't hold an edge all day long, but the soft steel that is easily dulled is also easily sharpened.

Can't speak to their knife but the blade steel is common and good for what it is.

Ive got quite a few HF items.

    -26" Tool chest
    -5 drawer service cart
    -3/8" air ratchet
-Right angle and straight die grinders
-16g (i think?) sheet metal shear (electric)
    -Slide hammer
-Rear axle bearing puller for slide hammers
    -Race/Bearing driver set
    -Pliers set
    -Screw driver set
    -3ton jack
    -6ton jackstands

-I also use their cutoff discs and flap discs. I usually buy a 10 pack everytime I stop in so i have tons of them at home. They work fine for me since i dont use them that often

All work great expect for two things. The pliers set is pretty meh. They work fine but are definitely cheap. But i also have Knipex pliers so can really tell a difference. The screw driver set is the other. The phillips screwdrivers have crap tips and were rounding off (on the actual screwdriver not the screw).

I just picked up the Daytona 3 ton floor jack. I was between that one and the aluminum 3 ton, and decided after testing both in store (and 20 minutes of standing there trying to decide) to go with the daytona. The pump on it was much quicker, and the pump/pistons seemed to be of better quality as were the wheels on it. At nearly double the weight, it's not light by any means but this was the sacrifice.

I have used the HF dremel tool and their angle grinder for years now and both work great. I snapped the lock button (the one to change out wheels) on the angle grinder but they replaced it for free. Their heat gun also works well for my minor electrical stuff.

I bought the small one. You will want to go through it before first use as it needs a little TLC out of the box. Once you adjust it and lubricate the mechanism it's a pretty good little press.

I bought a bench top one years ago and it work fine. It's too fast for doing much metal working but I was able to find a smaller pulley set at the salvage yard and slowed it done a bit. I have since given it away.

    Love:
    Red handled wire strippers
    1/2 breaker bar
18 gauge 2-in-1 nailer/stapler (paid for itself many times over in utility)
10 gallon compressor (Identical to HD Husky compressor)

    Like:
    21° framing nailer
    5 lb sledge
    1/4" torque wrench

    Meh, it works:
    3 in. electric cutoff
    Torx/Allen sockets (warranty used)
    Heat shrink butt connectors
    Latex gloves

    Garbage:
    Pneumatic cutoff

I got a free fly swatter, alas we have few flies here :(. I took it camping and had to grab a couple of mosquitoes and throw them into it as they were in short supply too. Fly swatters works fine, shortage of flies.
