We hit the trails of Calico this weekend, 10 months after my first trip out there, and learning how my 09's 4wd systems work makes a world of difference.

First off all, major props to David K and his write up on how and when to use the different bells and whistles.

I was really impressed with the ability of the limited-slip function. It really helped stick the truck on steep and rocky grades. Engaging the rear locker with the limited slip was amazing. I cannot believe how well this truck tracked on steep graveling climbs and descents. One problem I had was forgetting to turn off the limited-slip after climbs and descents, coming into tight turns; I could really feely the tires dig in and fight the turn.

This trip really opened my eyes to the capabilities of these trucks.

the >'09 VSC is quite capable off road, much more than the <'08 limited slip.

It was small trip, just a buddy and I. Definitely a good place to go wheelin' and shooting. Pretty country.

I don't know, I've been pretty impressed with these tires so far. They don't look aggressive, but they have performed very well in sand, mud, dirt, rock, and snow.

That is a great place to visit. The Family and GF went there about 3 yrs ago and took the quads. We spent Xmas there. It was a blast. Would like to go again but it was about 10 hrs for us. Here is one of my pics up above our camp. Congrats on your nice truck Plannerman
