Well I took my truck into champion Toyota lastnight to get my rear TSB done. Well As soon as I told the service wrighter (complete bitch) I needed my rear looked at, And I handed her the paper on the TSB. She was like is your truck under warrenty???, Um yes I have my extended warrenty, And im at 37k miles. Then she said it will cost you $105 to look at it...I said, It shouldn't cost anything, Due to I have my warrenty. She said let me get my manager...Ok well he comes out and said, Ok i'll look at it. They took it in the back, (I had my eye on it the whole time) they didn't do shit to it. They just parked it. I waited for an 1hr and 30min. Then my bitch service wrighter came out and said, Ok their is a TSB on it, But I have to have a insurance adjuster come out and look at it. I said "why", Then she said, Due to this being a job over a $1,000, And they will be here with in 24hrs. So I couldn't take my truck home. Then I said, "in my warrenty, Im supposed to get a loaner car". Nope she said. I can't approve of that until the insurance adjuster comes and looks at the truck..

So now im truck less for a couple days...Im im sooo unsatisfied with Toyota service...They SUCK.

x2. Sounds like you went to a lazy dealership that just doesn't want to help you.

That does suck. From my understanding, though, the TSB is only free during the original warranty period/miles. Extended warranties don't cover it.

Oh, I did some more research before I took it in, And everybody else that had it done under extended warrenty got it done for $0

The next thing they are going to tell you is they have to order the parts. That will be another day without your truck.

The thing I believe is these types of problems are not necessarily Toyota, it's the dealer. I'm thinking I'm lucky to have a dealer that wants to provide service. My experience with the TSB was:

    - Called and asked for the service manager.
    - Told the service manager my truck bottoms out when I have a load in the short bed and I'm concerned I'm gong to cause some damage.
    - Told the service manager about the TSB.
    - Service manger looked up my VIN, verified the truck was under warranty and looked up and read the TSB.
    - Told me he would order the parts and call me when he got them. (Keep in mind I haven't even gone into the dealership yet.)
    - He called the next day and scheduled the work.

I'm telling you IT'S THE DEALER. Find a dealer that wants to earn and keep your business!

That really sucks that they screwed you out of a loaner. That's the least they could've done to help fix the problem.
When I took mine in for the TSB I was given a loaner (one of the death corollas with sticky gas pedals ) and I had to pay $20 per day I had it. They used to give courtesy loaners for the first day and $20 per day after that but I guess with the economy sucking they changed their policy.
I hope it gets worked out for you man. Keep us posted what their "insurance adjuster" has to say about it.

I would be willing to guess their "adjuster" will come out, take a look at the springs, not bother to load test it, and determine everything is fine and no need to spend the money on the TSB. Remember this will be coming out of their pockets. They are more than happy to open their wallets when it comes time to take your money, but when it comes time to shell out some coin to cover warranty work they start finding excuses.

I really hope it works out for you. Nobody should have to jump through hoops to get necessary work done in any circumstance especially if it's known and documented. +1 rep for having to deal with a PITA dealership.

"Everyone" you talked to got lucky then. If you had the TSB paperwork in your hand you could have read the line where it says 3year/36K warranty...

It sounds like they are at least working with you...Maybe not doing it automatically and immediately as you would want...but if they are even considering doing it and you didn't pay anything for a diagnostic, I'd say you are doing alright.

    Good luck.

Folks in the past have gone to Lowes or Home Depot- bought a few 100 pounds of sand in bags- gone to the dealer- showed them- and then returned the sand the same day.
That is if you don't have your trailer or a load of parts you can throw in there.

They don't need to believe shit. They need to check out your parts & put the TSB ones on there and just be done with it. If the VIN fits, fix the shit! The suck part is that your mileage was 1k over the original 36k so I will 2nd the "lucky they're doing it at all" thing. None would do mine since mine was at 48k when I bought it certified preowned so I just said fuck it & went with the 5100s & a Toytec AAL.....

Definately try another dealer. Mine ordered the parts without even looking at my truck. I just complained and they said "we'll call you when the parts are in" which was the next day. They didn't even check the truck's miles.
