So I'm thinking about downgrading to the cheapest Tacoma they have. I find that I'm not really in need of the v6 or the double cab. Do my numbers add up?

    28,000 trade in
    22,000 for the new truck
15,000 owed on the current truck

    9,000 balance due.

Would this be a possible scenario? I have 16,000 miles on the current truck in excellent condition. Thanks

A new SR only costs $22k?! Must not be 4x4 = not a real truck

You have a 2.7? = must not be a real truck.

Everyone uses their truck differently. Just cause it ain't 4wd, doesn't mean the op will get use out of his vehicle.

My dealer doesn't mark down Toyota's. Ever. Unless it's a corporate event

Just told myself when I got another truck, it would 4wd. Had 3 2wd trucks before

Apparently I have. I'm sure those are new trucks though. Which I don't want. Personal taste and I've seen enough "I have ********* issues with my new 3rd gen" threads

I had a couple bad experiences with it.

Dealership keeps putting the wrong oil in it because they get confused that it isn't a 16 (0w20) but a 15. (5w30)
    Getting tired of that.

It is black in color and every time I wash it or try to take care of it, it looks worse and worse. New truck to be white or silver.

Also, I don't need the extras. The new base trucks come with everything I need. I just hope I can get my money back out of the 15?

Its funny you brought that up because I was recently at the Dealer and the Salesman told me 5W-30 is the wrong oil for my 15 and I had to tell him it was different than the 3rd Gens.

$3,000 to $5,000 to Line-X Body Armor the exterior of your black truck. Thinking about having mine done in a couple years. Cheaper than trading/financing for a new different colored Tacoma.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!

Have you not thought of selling your present truck yourself -- Well known FACT dealers make most of their money on USED vehicles (average 2500-3500 for the normal trade in) this will give you more money in your pocket to work with. Good luck with whichever way you go!
