Oh you go on quaker run thats near graves mountain lodge and you drive all the way to the end and it turns into rough gravel and then dirt and ruts. Its probably not as nice and upkept as you remember because of all the highschoolers that go wild on the trails etc. My friend and I went all the way across the rapidan trail easily with my stock tacoma and a stock tundra and a modified jeep cherokee

I've got the Monday after Christmas and New Year's off work. I'm thinking I might try to make a run for Flagpole one of those days myself depending on the weather.

I like fun. I'm open diff (SR5 problems) on 32s. My buddy has an '03 TRD on 33s. I'm assuming as long as I know how to drive and choose lines I'll be good? My buddy isn't quite as confident as I am when we roll up to stuff on the trail. Read that as he's anal and automatically goes to the worst case scenario.

I've got plenty of off-road experience in a $1500 Jeep Cherokee that I laughed about bouncing it off of rocks and trees. But I don't want to destroy a $19K truck. I mean, the Cherokee taught me a lot of what not to do, so I guess there's that. Lol.

In the last trip, had one prerunner that took trail 2. I forgot the guys name.

Had a few sport guys on trail 3, including @Truggin. Its possible to do with your truck. I think there are just 2 tricky spots

I've been watching videos of it here and there and did notice a lot of them just looked like a dirt road. That's one reason I haven't even been super pressed to make the ride. But that second picture looks more like what I'm looking for. I like tricky, but not "Locked, 37s, and body damage or you're not making it". And I know if it's too bad, I'll never be able to talk my friend into it.

I took my Cherokee up to The Cove in Gore and ran a lot of the trails I probably shouldn't have. Beat the shit out of it, but made everything I shouldn't have been on. Mostly by throttle. Lol.

Know where I could find a trail map of it? And how long should I plan for a run up and down to take? I'm not trying to camp (this time).

I just found this on google. You access it from Union Springs Rd. You can zoom in on the map
    https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1UhCBlG1iXpJ8nVZ8LOTb_uU40_Q&hl=en_US&ll=38.564408000000014,-79.02603099999999&z=13

When we went, we left Harrisonburg around noon, and got to the top at about 4:30. Just in time for sunset.

Flagpole Knob and Meadow Knob are close together/overlapping

Damn buddy you were eager to give that tree the high five. I went on the same flagpole trip and you would be surprised the clearance of a stock vehicle there. Guys with 33's pretty much could drive over anything they wanted. At stock height you just have to be a little more mindful. I was probably one of the lower guys out there and besides the same two spots not much issue. I will say this when you approach the hill at the end with that big rock, might be worth it to get a spotter there to help make sure you get the right line. Its easy to lose your orientation since its a little bit of a steep incline. I don't know about trail 2, but from what I hear its more of an annoyance than anything as it seems to be just a fire road. Be prepared to get some mild pinstripes on trail 3 though.

Thanks man. Now if I can just get that link to work on my phone. Works perfect on the PC. Gotta love technology.

Pinstripes aren't the end of the world. I've got a machete and a buffer. If one doesn't work, the other will.

Yes sir. I watched your videos the other night. Looks like a fun time. The time lapse one that was like 11 minutes long messed me all up when you were on the way down. Made it look like you were FLYING. Lol.

Could be some chopping with the machete. Im sure others will appreciate it though if you cut the area up a little bit.

Well I'll have that and a chainsaw for blow downs. Too much to chop with the machete = bust out the saw. I always take both on trips like that. And hopefully I'll have my winch by then if it ever comes off backorder, so if things get too sketchy, I'll have that for backup.
