    I have a 2005 Baja Turbo.

    Absolutely love it.

    Note about the Baja:

I bought it cheap with a blown engine 3 years ago (ate a turbo due to clogged banjo bolt in the turbo feed line, known issue) and rebuilt the engine myself planning to sell it for a profit since Baja Turbos are pretty rare.

Got it together and drove it for a bit to make sure all was well and liked it so much I decided to keep it.

It now has 200k on it and drives smoother than my wife's 2012 RAV4 Limited.

It's a bonus that even the low KBB trade in value is quite a bit more than I have in it so, basically a free car for 3 years so far.

A friend of mine has a Crosstrek that she's had about a year and she loves it as well.

Once you drive one in bad weather you'll be hooked.

My wife and I both drive Subaru Outbacks - and love them. Great in snow, easy on gas and maintenance. Our first was a "73 Subaru sedan and we've owned 10 Subarus over the years and never had any major issues with them. In fact, I just got a tremendous trade-in offer so I will be turning in my 2015 Outback this afternoon for a new 2017 Outback. I also love the Crosstreks - my brother-in-law has one and loves his, too. I think it's just a matter of whether you want/need the extra space in the Outback or not. Either way, you can'y go wrong IMHO.

Cool that's what I want to hear.... we both like the looks of he crosstrek better... but like the room of the outback. 'My wife luckily works with ladies have have both so she's gonna dress be boj of them and see what she wants. If we get a crosstrek we will buy new. But if we get a outback it will prob be a couple years old maybe 2015 or something just to save a little money.

I just happened to remember I had these old scanned pics - my 1976 Subaru 4WD Wagon. Long before the AWD days - but at least you didn't have to get out to lock the hubs!

My wife and I have a 2014 Outback and love it. It is big and heavy, and can feel a bit underpowered in certain situations, but it is super smooth on the highway and really eats up forest roads and snowy conditions. She currently drives a Honda Fit as a DD, but has already said that she wants a Crosstrek as her next vehicle based on how much she likes the OB. I haven't driven one but everyone I know who has one is super pleased. Like was stated above, I don't think you can go wrong either way. Just keep your eye open for the oil consumption issue on the 2013-2014's with the redesigned FB25 engine. You're probably good if you buy a 2015, as I believe they addressed the issue. Good luck!!

I had no issues at all with my 2015 Outback - only traded it because of the deal on the 2017s. Picked it up this evening and absolutely love it!

I have a 2000 4runner and a 2016 WRX. The WRX is great. Killer in the snow, relatively comfortable, and quick. Subaru salespeople were much friendlier than those at the other dealerships, too.
