I see it now! Appreciate it!

Question for all of you, I have some LEDs I want to come on with my parking lights. Is it possible to connect it to the same switch that does the parking lights but still going through the blue sea fuse block?

Not that style of block, unless you use the parking light signal to switch a relay which sends power from the battery through the fuse block to the LEDs.

Otherwise, Blue Sea also makes straight through fuse blocks.

How does this wiring diagram work look? Blue Sea 12 block, 40a relay, 5 pin rocker, 100a breaker, (3) 27w bumper lights.

How many relays do most folks run? I was going to run 10 on my 12 circuit fuse box, leaving 1 always on for the switches, and one for my 12v cigarette lighter running my fridge.

I just can't think of 10 things I need switches for right now...

Okay stupid question time! What is the point of relays?? Like I have my stuff wired from the fuse box to the switch. No relay inbetween. Am I missing something here??

If I've learned properly from this thread, and from the internet, the point of a relay is for items that require more power than can be pushed through a normal switch. Basically it's a high power switch that needs a lower powered switch to turn on. Some switches can only do a few amps, max. Now imagine trying to use a regular switch to power a compressor, or a winch. The amps needed will burn out the switch (and wiring). A relay can handle the higher power requirements while allowing you to use a normal switch (a lower powered device) to trip the relay.

Thanks! So from what I understand. Things like my LED light bar, or rock lights, won't need a relay. But things like a winch or air compressor would each need a relay? Because of the amount of power they draw.
    Right?
Thanks for all the info :)

Well lightbars can draw more than a switch is rated for....obviously it depends on the switches you are running. My 42" lightbar draws something like 16 amps or so, so for a 20amp switch, on top of being appropriately fused, it would probably be fine but I run it via a relay anyway just due to my AUX fuse block setup. Some of those shit switches that you can get off Amazon are only rated at like 3-5 amps.

What you should do is calc how many amps your accessory is drawing, and then see what your switch is rated for.

Some multimeters have an amp meter as well. You can test total current draw for each light. If you test the ground side you will find a much lower amp draw. In many cases it is less than 1 amp. Test before trying it on an actual switch. If it is low enough you can connect the switch to the negative side (ground switching) and not use a relay at all.

Greetings, anyone out there in TW have a solid drawing or sketch (flat w/ bends) for fabricating a mounting plate or does someone have a link to manufacturer? I see a ripe market for someone who has the equipment and means to mass produce kits. Regards.

I have been working on getting all my components together and after reading every thread I can, I really like these power and ground wires but can't find this style anywhere. Anybody, even op from 6 years ago, point me in the right direction or link? Thanks!

Just regular power/ground cables covered with woven wire loom and heat shrink at terminal ends to keep it in place. You can get rolls of woven loom pretty cheap on eBay in a variety of colors.

Or were you referring to the battery terminals?
