Richland Rd staging area - Partial Private Property/closed

Where is everyone that's camping Friday camping out at?

 

Days Inn, maybe? It was 16* there this morning. Last forecast says 60% chance of snow Saturday.

 

Is it just guys going or significant others coming also

 

And Sunday is still hurricane creek right?

 

I'm still planning to camp even in the cold. And @misdirection1982 i am sure that lady friends are welcome. So I am also assuming that the burn ban has been lifted with all of the rain?

 

My lady works Saturday but was thinking of coming up or me running to get her Saturday for camping and hurricane creek

 

So how did this go? Any pictures?

Who all is camping Friday? We still need to find a spot.

For the Saturday night camping is it a camp near the truck or a hike to the site situation. Since it's going to be so cold I'm trying to figure out who to con into co-piloting my trip. The wife just said No, and my son has no choice but I don't want to freeze him.

 

There isn't a spot picked out for either Friday or Saturday.

Yea it's gonna be damn cold.

 

Looking like a solo trip, My wife said she would go if we were staying in a nice hotel. Hahaha

 

I am not taking my truck out on this trip, had some issues over the weekend. Might ride with someone, will see

 

unless a front wheel drive Tacoma can make it

 

FWD is all the rave these days!

 

Not really alot of places to camp around Richlands road that I know of. Linville Gorge has a nice road that runs along the gorge with primative camping sites. Pretty far from richlands.

 

NC105 off 183 is about an hour drive away from Richland rd up the parkway. My son and me camped there a lot over the summer. Good places for groups and should be empty considering the weather.
