    Still has spiders cept has 4 instead of two. And the carrier is stronger. The "locker" is on the ring gear side of the carrier and works just like a locking hub assembly.

    It is a catch 22. The carrier assembly is stronger with an ARB. But being locked up front can cause you to grenade CVs. But common sense and light use of the skinny pedal can prevent that.

    Also the lower the gear set (numerically higher) the weaker the pinion gear. Less teeth means less strength.

    Light use of skinny pedal is something I need to get better with. I used to be real good till takeover. And I rather grenade a CV than the diff again. At least that I can carry spares for. I think the 5.29's will slow me down enough though. Gonna def take it easier now that I blew some shit up.

    I helped Mike replace his add on his first gen, didn't remove diff tho, but did drop the diff a bit to get more room. But front diff is pretty straight forward, similar to third member. Remove axles and mounting hardware and wrestle it out.

    Good to know. Sound like the TRD filter may actually be made by K & N?

    Eventually will probably happen. But for now being overgeared will be enough. Love the extra challenge of the manual. That is until it keeps me from getting onto even harder trails. So far it hasn't been the limiting factor though.
