really on the "never use cruse control if you're worried about mpg" I would have thought the cruise control would help the mpg... not so?

Nope - cruise cause the tranny to "hunt" or downshift more when climbing hills - negative effect on MPG when the RPM's are constantly jumping.

It won't anticipate hills and will actually speed up 2 mph faster on the hill. For best mpg you prepare for the hill and allow it to back off the speed you want to go by a couple mph. But that's me with 285s.

Wow! 9 years dead thread! I'm over here 3" lift, 265/75/16, 39k miles, no plug swap yet, probably 100 lbs of bolt-ons, Volant CAI, Magnaflow catback and I get 18.5-19.6mpg.

I get between 21-25 mpg with my 2.7 4x4 2008 access cab manual transmission, toyo at lt265/75r16 tires.
Depends on how I drive, I don't think my tires are helping, which is fine by me. I think with street tires and fine tuning I could get more, but it's winter here and I need the traction.

If I keep my rpm low ( 19-25k ) it really helps keep the mileage.

My 2005 v6 on the other hand got 15-17mpg. So I'm pretty happy with the mileage, the four bangers definitely get better mileage from my experience.

Anything between 12-22 MPG for the 4.0 V6 seems to be normal. Yes it's a wide spread that depends on mods, ambient temperatures, hauling/towing and driving style.

19.5-21 mpg every tank, V6 Access cab, AFE intake and a Aeroturbine exhaust. About 70 ish pounds of add ons (not that it really matters at that amount) Just drive like a grandma and you fine! 70 mpg is the fastest i go, fuck cruise control. :)

2015 TRD OR stock with tonneau and just under 23,000 miles average 20-22 mpg. Typically driving around 60 mph to and from work with around 60 miles of city driving on each tank. Got around 20 mpg driving 75-80 mph from Colorado to New Orleans and back.

I have a stock 2014 AC 2.7L 4X2. Just past 11K. I just calculated mine last night and I am getting 31.34 MPG. I have a tonneau cover but I don't think it has much to do with it.
