No issues on mine. Some vibrations in the steering and floorboard area, and the transmission really slams into 1st gear on downshifts when cold, but other wise its perfect. Sometimes it bucks and stutters when it seems to be in too low of a gear when cruising. But yeah, no issues.

I have not had any issues with my truck except for the passenger side a-pillar rattle. Some adhesive backed foam fixed that right up. I have learned a sh*t ton from this forum, and I have done some preventative maintenance as a result such as the AC drain hose fix, checked the U bolts on the rear end, and I had my truck fluid filmed. I know it's not a big thing in the gasoline engine segment like it is for the powerstroke diesel guys, but I also run Archoil AR9100 in the crankcase and AR6200 with each tank of fuel. The engine purrs like a kitten!

Same for me. The vibrations I just attribute to it being a truck so it's not going to be as refined as my wife's Highlander. Slamming into gear on downshifts is annoying though.

Mine is issue free at 3k except the rattle in the pass a pillar area when cold. That is mostly a non issue since I can stop it with a piece of tape or just running the defroster in full heat for a few minutes.

It is my understanding that some of the early 2017s still received the old transmission program. It would not hurt to ask you service advisor if they could check the version that is installed on you rig, but if the service advisor is a bag of dicks it might not lead to positive results.

You have to realize that the forums are where the most disconcerted and picky consumers come to congregate. Heck, I bet a good portion of members create an account just to post a qualm they have with the vehicle. I LOVE my taco. My only gripe is the damn steering wheel controls. Volume is usually regarded as an up and down movement. Track selection is usually regarded as a left and right. Why is it backwards?!?!

Do you have the newest TSB? That was my wifes complaint she said it felt like she was hauling water when she would decelerate. The new TSB totally fixed it.

I would argue I have no abnormal issues. Everything my truck does is discussed at length on these boards. I love my 3rd gen!

Edit - coming from a decade of Audi ownership I have learned to deal with glitches.

My 2017 TRDOR 6MT is a gem so far. I've only had it for 4 days, and it's barely got 100 miles on it. But man it rides great. The manual trans is smooth as butter.

Turned on some of the off-road goodies yesterday in some deep snow and all seem to be working great.

Maybe mine does it, I really don't know what people are talking about when they are describing the howl. Sure, it makes some noise, but I'm not sure if it's coming from the LCAs on the front, the rear diff, or just tire noise from the AT tires. Either way, apparently its not bothering me. I don't feel anything is off (shifting / towing / etc) so I'm not sweating it.

My Silverado shifted much worse than this thing, made more noises, and the G80 would randomly clunk, even when the tires weren't slipping. Comparatively, this truck is quiet.

Get to 55 turn off the radio and let go of the gas and youll hear it, but if you have the radio on youll never hear it. Chevy has the same "problem" with their 6 speed, my impala did it, youll get used to it

If I need a procedure to locate it, and it's not hurting anything, I'm going to just drive it. I've seen a lot of people say they had diffs replaced, but I think only 1 that had one grenade. This truck is gonna howl like a sumbitch when I put mud tires on it, so if it's mechanically sound I don't care if it sings with me while I drive down the road.

There were guys on here with the issue of stuck or hard shifting after highway driving, the fix was a different part in the shifter if memory serves me.
