I'd be more likely to winter camp alone if I had protection. But I do not. A girl camping alone in the woods is kinda sketchy. Never know what some idiot may try to do. I try to group camp if possible. Tent city.

Let me know when you're feeling crafty. I might get in on some supplies with you if I haven't gotten a mat by then.

Found out Applebee's serves a cheese burger with hashbrowns, and a egg, similar to the Slam burger at Dennys !
In case you got sick of Dennys like I did....

We don't have Dennys around here. I'll eat an egg burger anywhere at this point.

Forgive me for not reading through the 516 pages if this was mentioned somewhere already...

I have a couple year old Mt. Rainier with the overhang and annex. I just heard about the tension bars they have now that prevent water pooling on the overhang. Anyone added this to a tent that originally did not have it? CVT said it could be added and they cost $50, but I'm wondering what they look like and how well they work.

Looks like a piece of 1" conduit, though it's aluminum, with some C shaped things on the ends that allow it to snap to the overhang support and over the support inside the tent. Don't know how it's worth $50, I'd bet a shower curtain rod would work just as well if you can find a good way to hold it up to the two tent supports. I need to get out in the garage and put mine away sometime this week, I'll try to remember to get a picture.

Anyone found a less expensive alternative to the Annex channel or anti-condensation mat?

On mine I flipped the factory straps around so the one with the buckle was on the bottom. Then I use a ratchet strap over the top.

The stock Velcro things are worthless.

I ended up replacing the straps with ratchet straps and it works great
