...^^^... I see you are down below the ATL airport and close to a control center.

There is a plane like that and another canard wing called a "Starship" that used to come into PDK almost everyday.

It actually flew over my house (north of the city) almost everyday.

Very unusually sounding aircraft and always enjoyed seeing it. .... I still run outside and look, when I hear an unusual aircraft go over ... :)

There are 2 of the remaining 3 (or maybe 4) operational Starships left in the world based at my home airport. Super cool planes

...^^^... it's been a couple of years (or longer) since that Starship has gone over this area to/from PDK.

Before that, it was regularly here for maybe a year or longer.

I think it's awesome because the owner actually flies them. Fun because I get to fuel them up on occasion!

I don't think many people, or any for that matter, in here have flown in both Part 121 airlines and Part 135/91 charter. But, that is not to say that people don't have their opinions on both sides of civilian aviation.

Corporate can be more exciting and adventurous. You go somewhere new all the time, get to see the country as whole, if not the world. And the pay escalates at a faster rate than the airlines.

The airlines have consistency, a schedule, and usually some sort of union or work environment that helps with a work/life balance.

Did you have any specific questions that some other we can help answer?

    ...^^^... my thoughts exactly ... on the F-35 ... AND ... V-22 rotary programs.

Money pits to give jobs in certain congressional areas.

Makes me crazy that DoD didn't do more research on "coaxial rotors w/ pusher prop" before V-22. They are doing it now with S-97 and etc.

I am not an experienced fixed wing guy but some of my buddies wanted to see good mods & upgrades of present aircraft and put money in next gen aircraft (beyond F-35's).

Sorry if I have ruffled any feathers here, not my intentions, just my thoughts. :)

F-35 program 'cost is out of control,' Trump says! I guess this is the next out of control program to get hit?

Man, I thought this forum was being strangely quiet, turns out I just wasn't getting the alerts when someone posts... Oh well, just caught up on a few pages of goodness.

I was up in Everett, WA last week and snagged this pic of one of our "new-to-us" planes being stripped for new paint. @Bushed recognize anything?IMG_2890.jpg

I'm old school and grumpy, but the first time I heard about the F-35 design concept it sounded far fetched and didn't make sense to me. :notsure:

Yeah, how can I get in the front of a G650? lol... maybe one day :)

It is nice to see a good number of regionals are accepting rotor wing flight time. The airframe can be learned, but does the pilot have good experience? How do they perform under pressure? How is their crew coordination? Their decision making skills? General knowledge? Control touch? So good to see we're being given chances and not being overlooked simply because our wings spin around and aren't stationary.

I don't know how you guys do it. Thought about this thread recently...When returning via DEN to DRO the other day in a white out snowstorm. I was already apprehensive about the landing. I had the shade closed headphones on and watching war dogs. The pilot had to pull up 2 times and then went for it on the 3rd attempt. Felt like we landed sideways but I couldn't see as my head was tucked between legs.
Curious what the heck goes through pilots minds when that happening. Balls is all I got to say.

Eh, G650's break a lot from what I've seen. Get in one of the new Citation Latitude/Longitude planes. Those are sweeeeet
Don't really have to have big balls, just good training. You don't really have time to get nervous if you're focused on getting down safely. I say that and it might be because I've never really scared myself shitless yet.
