I have video, abandoned vehicles in the ditches on both sides of the road lol. Those girls looked like they just stepped out of an REI and saying "ya lets take the Kia up in the snow".

I just pressure washed the frame from both sides and underneath the truck.... dried, rattle canprimed the existing rust areas, then went to town with the 3m spray. If you have access to a Hotsy hot pressure washer that would work better.

I was up in Greenwater Thanksgiving day weekend. Heard a guy yell out, wtf is wrong with my diesel up here? Its like losing power and stuff. (Ford F-350 Diesel super cab on 6" fabtech lift) I just laughed, was quite a shitshow that weekend as well.

It's not as big of a deal here as it is back east. I honestly wouldn't worry about it as I have yet to see any vehicle really effected by it even on the dot vehicles that pretty much live in the stuff. Back east they use (or used to?) use regular salt which is really what does the corrosion. what WA dot uses isn't quite as corrosive.

As for protection though....I don't do anything special. once or twice a year I really pressure wash everything and take a can of rustoleum rust converter spray paint and apply that over anything that needs it

Well, my trucks headed to the body shop tomorrow. Didn't realize my deductible was so low and I have rental reimbursement at $40 a day up to $1200.

    Are floor mats a mod?
What Nick said. i just keep the bottom of my truck washed after each snow event, and in spring I go under and use a pencil chipper for any flakes, coat with 2 part petit rust lock, and hose it down with some black. Never have anything more than a few flakes.

Not a chemist, but my understanding is that the mag chloride has a different ion or something so it's less corrosive. Same for calcium chloride.

Did you end up finding a 6spd MT? It took some searching when I got mine, I was about ready to give up and buy an AT when I found it.

You mean the turnaround we saw 3/4 of the town of Darrington at last year?

I settled on an auto. I would've had to order a truck and I didn't want to wait 6-8 weeks
