Current full size pickups are physically enormous. The Taco is plenty big for what I need. Just ad big ad a 1960s half ton. Much easier to park. Only available manual transmission in a pickup. Plus, with resale, likely much lower cost of ownership over the long run. I still think all this adds up to a better value if you dont need full size capability.

    I don't have experience

I will take your word for it

I still want a raptor for my Starbucks runs :)

    To each his own

When I spend money I want to be able to look back at my purchase and smile

I have that with Pro now

But it will wear off soon enough

I have wanted a raptor since 6.2L came out

I still stare at them on the road

I don't look at tacomas on the road

More suspension travel, way more hp/tq, more ground clearance, more fun 90% of the time.

I hate the width for what I use a truck for, so even if they were the same price as a taco I still wouldn't buy one.

I know about the engine and considering it's a fullsize truck I'd expect it to have more power/towing capabilities etc. I never said the raptor was a bad truck, I just said for my money I would probably go with the pro.

I don't need a fullsize truck, so the towing capabilities is not something i need, although the power would be nice.

I read on tfltruck where i linked the raptor in the beginning that the average price of the raptor being sold was like 66k or something which in my mind i just thought was a lot of dough.

There is no question the raptor is more "truck" than the tacoma, was just curious as to what made it more capable off road and you just answered that.

I knew the truck has more hp/tq. It's a fullsize. That goes without saying. I figured it would have more ground clearance with the larger tires which i knew they have. Didn't know it had more suspension travel.

I got a problem with CR. I take them with a grain of salt. They'll put a black dot (bad) on the electrical system of the Tacoma because the $120 blower motor squeaked. 10 minute fix by the consumer. Why don't those clowns give a rating for ease of maintaining and fixing stuff? They are environmental nut-jobs that will severely lower a rating if it puts out a molecule more exhaust.

More ignorant claims. You can't just "hide" $6000 in the price of a truck to "make up" for 0% financing. If you ever see 0% financing, 99% of the time you have a choice between that or a rebate for several thousand dollars. Those incentives come from the manufacturer, not the dealer. Whichever option you choose has nothing to do with the sale price of the truck from the dealer and those are clearly described in your purchase agreement. If anyone doubts this, you simply take out a calculator and add up the cost of the payments (and interest if necessary) and compare it to the sales price of the vehicle to see if the math works out. If for some reason you EVER find that somehow a $6000 sum was mysteriously added into the price of a vehicle without your knowledge, any lawyer would be glad to sue the hell out of the dealer on your behalf.

Everyone probably has a problem with 1 company here or there. I listed multiple sources for that reason. There are more online as well.

If you can get past the shitty interior plastics and old school styling - then the 2016 Frontier. More reliable that 3rd Gen Tacoma and many many thousands cheaper.

I had one for 4 weeks and the exhaust fell off. Faulty weld from factory. It was hard on gas too. Inside was atrocious. The tech was lacking and dated. Seats were nice (leather package) suspension took a beating and never bottomed out. If they would update the interior and fresh things up a bit I would consider one.

The main reason I buy tacomas is resale value. I sold my '04 sr5 4cly manual with a rebuilt title and a frame patched in several places for $9,000 in 2 hours on kijiji. I disclosed all the items I just mentioned here as well.

I already debunked the resale claim. Go back a few pages.

I can add to that some also, 2012 ram sport crew 4x4 bought new in 2012 36k sold 4 years later for 30k. That's good resale value imo, especially for a crappy dodge as people on here say.

Well a simple google search could have answered most of that for you. And the raptor has full skids, more suspension travel, etc. to name a few, there is no doubt it is more capable off road than a Pro. I don't even know why we are questioning that. Throw in more power, better towing/payload, more standard features like power seats, additional aux switches that are prewired, etc. that the Pro dosent have (yes a base raptor dosent have leather, dual climo or bsm) its a better truck for only a bit more.
