My dad's 14 has been flawless and so has my mom's 13 explorer, the ford of before is not the ford of today, people need to stop with this Toyota is the only reliable brand nonsense.

Exactly. People are always stuck in the past. Because X was true in 1929 or 1969 or 1999 then X must still be true today. No, the stock market wont go up forever. Yes, a man has now landed on the moon. No, Y2K isn't a real threat. Tacoma worked will in 2012? Great. This is a whole new powertrain now.

    X1000. It gets old.

Honda did it in the off road business for years. After a couple of generations (human generations) people woke up and realized can am, Polaris, etc make superior products that are reliable enough for most.

I find, not trying to single out anyone here, that 3rd gen members are a bit more close minded.

Yep, KTM and Husky used to be the garbage of the MX world, they just won all the new bike shoot outs. Things change, though I will still ride my trusty yamahas.

I hear ya. I have a Yamaha atv and snowmobile. Just bought an arctic cat wildcat, we'll see how that goes lol. All makes/models have their issues, just pick the one with the cheaper issues to fix

Considering there are about twice as many tacomas as twins. They are equal in numbers.

I still stand behind something I have said for years. There were just as many issues with older vehicles (even gen 1 tacomas) as there are today. Just a bigger voice (internet) to be heard these days.

Dodge makes a good truck (Kinda) Ford makes a great truck. In reality all companies make good trucks. They also all have there issues. Honestly.... I might jump ship in 2018 on that new Jeep Wrangler Pickup. IT IS SEXY!

Simple Google search. Tacoma: 174,117 through November. Colorado/Canyon: 132,695 through November.
Not twice as many tacomas as twins. Not even close to 50% more.

I don't tally 'em up as I am driving but I can honestly say I see a few more twins on the road here in TN than I do Tacomas. But it is probably pretty close.

Here tacomas are 4:1 to twins at the very least

Then again driving an American car in LA is announcing to the world you are white trash

    Euro
    Japanaese
    British

    Seems to rule the day

Where I live (east coast Canada) it's Tacoma or bust in the mid size market. However I can get a cclb z71 4x4 Colorado for cheaper payments than a base, sr5, 4cly manual trans, 4x4, extended cab Tacoma. So that's a hard decision when it comes time for me to buy a new midsize truck.

yeah but go sit in one... if you can pull it up directly next to a tacoma... you will instantly tell the difference in quality... given tacoma has had a few bumps but you can instantly tell the twins are just cheap feeling

That's almost every Tacoma here, the guys that actually wheel there's are armored up, tastefully modded 2nd gens and 1st gens. The shiny new wheels with wannabe AT's on a lift but I never go anywhere besides the pavement rule here, which includes a lot of the people here in TW it appears. Its a fad just like anything else, all about outward appearances.
