Not to change the subject -- but phuck the gawd damn JBL system. Ended up getting the Alpine CDA 9886 deck. Got everything wired up inside the house cuz it was raining. After slicing a huge chunk out of my finger while trying to run the ipod cable into the console, I pulled the stock stereo and went to connect the wiring harnesses. No dice. So, either I can spend 150 bucks on a JBL compatible harness, OR, I can wire around it and do all the speakers, amp, and sub separately. I was planning on adding components to the system and an additional amp, so now I'm at a crossroad.

Spend about a grand, score an amp and some good components, (wait for the second amp and sub till later), OR, patch the wiring through the stock system into a regular harness, which would be a PIA cuz I gotta rewire everything in a month or so when I get some cash for the componenets, OR spend a hundred and fifty bucks to get the damn JBL harness....

    Ideas?

Anybody running JBL modified systems that NEED this harness? The guy at the shop was thinking that its not only a remote turn on, but its also a relay for other systems in the vehicle. I did notice that when I pulled the factory deck, my airbag light went on. Anybody here know if I need it?

    Thanks!

I bought the harness for 100 bucks and put in a pioneer deck made my jbl system sound completely different it was bumping way harder too I dont have it any more tho cuz i missed the remote on the steering wheel but damn it sounds a WHOLE lot better i sold it to SouthernX he seems pretty satisfied with it and he also says it makes his jbl system sound way better then b4.

Well, thats done. It was a total friggin PIA. took the better part of a day to install just a head unit. Man did I feel like an idiot. The system does sound a heck of a lot better. When I get some cash freed up I'm gonna add some components and a sub/amp combo later.

I've got a buddy who works at a big electronics store, and ended up paying 50 bucks for the harness, so it wasn't too bad.

Yeah. So far, i've debadged, afe, magnaflow, lund bed cover, trd seat covers, and some other little things. Brandon over at avid is just finishing up a custom off road bar and some sliders/steps for me, which I'm gonna go pick up next thursday.

Wanted to lift the tuck this month or next, but crashing my bike and possibly needing surgery on my hand will set that back. Tires are getting bald as sh!t, too, so thats gonna be the next major expense, prolly gonna get some duratracs...

I'm not sure what lift to go with. If I'm not gonna do it for a while, I might as well save up for an OME... I was gonna just do billy's, but I think I'll go for broke, prolly end up getting some new UCA's too.
