It's like going out for a meal.

You can go to a restaurant sit down order a steak cooked exactly how you like it with a garden salad, fresh baked bread and your beverage of choice. The same people would say...You could have went to the all u can eat restaurant and gotten twice as much food.

If you have to explain, they won't get it.

For the price of a pro. You can get into a base 17 Raptor that will walk all over it.

The Raptor wasn't designed for trail driving, more of a desert style runner. The TRD OR trucks are more trail trucks comparable to Jeeps. You kinda trash the Tacomas, surprised you still drive one just saying. This is after all a Tacoma forum.

I'm a Chevy guy. I could have gotten a similarly optioned Silverado (last years) for about 7k more. I like the smaller truck and if I didn't like it, I can get my money out of it and buy the Silverado.

No plans to sell the Taco after 16k miles.

How do I trash tacomas, because I said the raptor is far more capable off road? Hate to break this to you but it is. I love my tacoma, you do realize I've had 6 of them now. Holy hell the fan boy love here sometimes. I even said the tacoma was better suited for small trails, etc. The raptor of the past you are correct, desert runner, not the case now. Again, please do some research read through the whole thread before criticizing someone or making assumptions, shit starts to get irritating. Thank you too for pointing out its a tacoma forum, wasn't sure about that one.

There's a difference between being a fan and enthusiast, again I will point out I've owned a shit ton of these trucks, and claiming it is the be all end all for everything, in this case off road prowess, which is far from the case. Its still a great truck, no one here said it was or wasn't. If you look through the discussion the debate was between a Pro and a Raptor and bang for your buck and then which one is more off road capable, you cannot deny the raptor is, for all the reasons listed before, arguing anything different is silly and then calling someone out for saying anything is better than the Tacoma is even sillier.

Raptor and Pro are still different trucks. Midsize vs Fullsize. The Raptor is a well designed truck but after looking at Ford trucks I bet you cant get one for under $50k. ZachMX not bashing you I too have had my share of trucks, too many as far as my wife thinks. It gets annoying seeing all the complaints about the 3rd gen trucks- I am happy with mine, to me its superior to my previous RAM

Agreed and thats the whole discussion, it caveated into more capable off road and bang for your buck. You can get a base raptor for $49k compared to the $42k Pro. The pro has leather, bsm and dual auto climo over the raptor. The raptor has more suspension travel at a whooping 13+ inches, better tires (k02s everyone loves), aluminum body, fully boxed frame, 3.0 fox shocks with variable dampening and independent valving internally, full skids underneath, 5 different terrain selects (similar to our MTS), front torsen differential (sends power to separate wheels), more payload, more hp, and similar MPG. Its downfall is its size which in a lot of off road scenarios smaller is better and there the Tacoma shines.

Cool, just quick to jump with the nonsense in here sometimes. Different trucks for different buyers, if you delete the raptor vs pro discussion and talk F150 vs Tacoma or Fx4 F150 vs Tacoma Off road then thats a totally different deal. Tacoma OR would hand either of those F150's there ass off road and are just for different buyers for different needs. Now back to my tire research deciding to either go 265/75 or 265/70 ko2 bros for my OR.

I had the same choice and I had the experience of owning an 82 cj7. Loved it when i was in my 20's....Great for me and the dog for camping but that was it, couldn't really take much more...so I went with the bed to haul gear and still get 4 people in the cab
