That's a good point. My setup is definitely not stealthy! If I were under 6' I think I woulda went for the LB.

I have the DCSB on order, and I sat hard and thought about how I'd implement a design that would allow to fully stretch out.

Coming from the 6ft bed in my AC I just slept with tailgate up, which I absolutely loved.

I think if Toyota gave us the rear window that rolls down like the 4Runner and Tundra, you could build a platform that allows your feet or head(depending on direction) to be in the cab...but you would have to have a clean seal around the trucks window, and you would be high up in the shell if it was flush with the cab.

Either way, stealthy is what I'm an after too, so once I get this truck delivered, I'll be posting pics up of the camp bed set up on the DCSB.

It's @C4 Fabrication mid height bars. He came through for me too after some miscommunication on timing. Awesome vendor who builds quality products! I can get the RTT and bars on my truck in under 30 mins by myself. I love the setup.

RTT is about 1 inch above the cab height when traveling. The height of the bars also make it very difficult for thieves to steal my gear out of the back when I stop which is really nice sense that's a big worry out here in California.

Awesome! Exactly what I was wondering and theft is a major concern because i kayak fish a ton (I can't do much in a boat 200 yards out while I watch people snatch shit outta the back of my truck)..I debate the KB Voodoo mid height rack system with the additional ability to have my tonneau hard cover on..but they are $550, plus $100 for the additional brackets to allow the cover to work..then plus shipping..that's getting pricey in the $750 range..and to ad a bike mount I'm at $850. Trying to stomach that..relentless has the 3 bar setup in the $300s. But no tonneau on that..I got till march before my RTT arrives..I don't want my tent much higher than yours!

Yeah I went through a very similar thought process. I wanted the KB voodoo tonneau bars but they don't (or didn't) support a RTT. Usually C4 does a discount every now and then so I would look out for those!

I believe relentless is even lower, which is a problem for me since I seem to pack my entire house when going camping ha.

To clarify too, it makes it difficult for people to steal my nice cooler, camp chef, propane tank etc...basically the larger more expensive stuff. If you pack the larger stuff near the side and back and the little stuff in a box in the middle it's safe, but someone could steal stuff like a fishing rod/ other small items pretty quickly if you pack your truck wrong. Much better than some of the other setups I looked into though! Easy to rig some metal sides/back plate to this setup too if it's a major issue.

Yeah makes sense. I was just hoping to avoid an 8/10 foot cable weaved through the handles of everything too. My buddy does that and it's a pain in the butt all around..thinking of just keeping a German Shepard in the bed of my truck. Thanks for all the info!

This is the re-designed Voodoo..wish it was like 4 inches taller but then it affects the sturdiness..but is much more affordable option too..but so far no bike tray option. That would get me to grab it immediately! This is probably what I'm gonna go with tho

Undercover is making the Ridgelander tonneau cover now but I don't know if they make them for the Tacoma yet. Might send them a message if you are interested in one.

They are for the 5 foot bed (2016 & 17) but not the 6 foot bed yet.

Considering a truck bed tent. NOT an RTT, ain't got that kinda dough even when they go on sale.
Something that fits in a ACLB, mid-weight fabric for all-weather camping.
    Suggestions? Sub $250 please

Considered that as well too. I was a Boy Scout for over 10 years, not about that sleeping on the ground life anymore.

Close, but needs to be accessible by my drunken self lol. Never gone camping since 21 without beer, would feel wrong.

Hammocks are bad news bears when you've had a few too many... But I'll still take my ENO hammock over a ground tent.

RTTs are also sketchy after drinking heavily. I've almost turfed it down the ladder way too many times rushing to take a leak at 3am
