Love that area! How recent is this? We're looking at a road trip next week in that area. We usually go up behind the Marine base just east of there.

 

It's SO hot! It was waaay too warm for summer camping but it will be ideal for fall/spring.

 

That was in June of this year. Its dicey this time a year, my guess is that the gate on 108 is closed on both sides. Fishing was good on that trip..

 

Practicing for Baja with a few days in Saline valley. Sunrise over Ubehebe peak is the reward for the breakfast cook!

Took the Tacoma out to Death Valley National Park. First time here. Im pleasantly surprised at how pretty this place is. Would definitely recommend it!

 

Finally got to use the annex on my Tepui Autana this week at our ranch (Fredericksburg, TX). Held up really well in the wind, and setup was not bad in the wind either. Beautiful weather for some camping and hunting! The first pic is a nice sunset over one of our hunting areas.

Thinking about taking a couple day trip here next week.

 

My camping spot one night for a solo weekend trip to Rainbow Basin and Black Mountain Wilderness Area. Beautiful scenery out that way. Rainbow Basin is the second pic.

$97 TETON Sports Universal Camp Pad; Sleeping Pad for Car Camping , Brown, Universal/80" x 30" x 2"

extra mattress (goes on top of the cot's). As comfortable as my $2k king-size mattress at home.

I paid $65 for the extra mattress, but price seems to have gone up to $99. I'd still buy it again. Great stuff.
