This is how it looks with the top plate compressed down. A lot less bend than it had originally. I even cut the hose shorter on mine.

So I snagged som JBA long tubs from a guy on Craigslist...
am I going to notice a loss of low end?
Debating weather or not to put them on now lol.
The plan was to go headers & add an aero turbine 25 resonator to my Trd catback to keep the sound down after losing the front cats..
along with the URD 255 fuel pump KIT (ordered the white plastic pickup line)
    & 2.85 stealth pulley

Has anyone towed anything sizable since installing their SC?

I'm curious to know as well. One of my "justifications" for buying the SC was for towing improvements.

Not yet - but looking forward to pulling the travel trailer down south over the holidays. It was one of my "justifications" as well.

I have a 6MT - so the clutch is my weak link.

I am at 21k miles with maybe 1k supercharged and just noticed my clutch slipping a little when I tried to pass on the highway. Hopefully it will last until it gets warmer.

thanks for posting this. i needlessly disconnected one of the lines to my tranny cooler during the SC install so i lost about a pint of fluid. it was darker than i expected so i may want to flush. at very least i need to make sure the level is full.

Anybody with before after long tube header experience? (Supercharged)
Is there a noticeable loss of low end?

Definitely flush. It's a pain but good practice. The TechStream will help as well, but the link above has a work-around using 16g wire.

My 2014 had major slipping issues; I found the ATF was low (despite the dealership claims that the fluid was at the correct level ) so I flushed my transmission and filled it to the proper volume. No issues since.

URD states their Spec U LT experience no low end loss. I don't like absolutes like that, but the dynos support that claim of (perhaps more accurately) minimal low end loss.

Doug Thorley LTs are also a big favorite of F/I folks.

I don't remember if JBA makes a long tube header

What have you done to your truck lately
Nope can't tell. TRD supercharger, 2.85 stealth pulley, airflow snorkel, DT long tubes, URD Y pipe, magnaflow muffler and quiet resonator.

    That's basically what I'm doing
Currently have afe stage 2 sealed pro dry
Ordered 2.85 pulley and 255 fuel pump
Have the longtubes in garage just gotta order the O2 sim
Was also going to throw a resonator on my catback
How do you like that setup?
Noticeable gains compared to just the supercharger?

CA people: I just called Tim at Sparks about the CARB sticker. He said Magnusson needs the serial number shown on the Bully Dog packaging in order to send the sticker. I provided the number so I hope to get my sticker now.

I am not sure whether you will need to call or if Sparks has the needed info from the BD tuner and just needs more time to process. You should probably call...

Most likely yes. It would make sense that the tune is what is CARB certified but I could be wrong.

Touching on the Bully Dog tune once more, just for another data point for anyone having trouble with their BD 2.85 tune.

    My truck's setup is
    • 2.85 URD "stealth pulley"
    • URD fuel pump upgrade (Walbro 255)
The consensus was that for those of us who had issues with the Bully Dog was that the ECM learned values were not cleared and that was the culprit. I decided to test that theory.

My truck went to the dealer where I attempted to get the TRD flash and after the the tech looked at my truck I was told it was already up to date and flash could not be done or re-uploaded. But as @TacoCat and I experienced, after leaving the dealer our trucks run great.

So after driving around for close to a week, my truck should have learned whatever it needed to learn. Yesterday, against my better judgement I attempted to upload the Bully Dog 2.85 tune to see if it worked. The result is the same as before. In boost, AFR climbs to nearly 18 AFR. :facepalm:should have waited until the Mongoose and Techstream were in hand. I went into the Bully Dog settings and did the Reset ECU option and tested the truck again. Same issue. So I don't think learned settings really have anything to do with this. Yay, now another trip to the dealer to argue with my advisor that whatever they "weren't able to do" last time I needed them to "not be able to do it again" to fix it.

After sleeping on it I decided to use the Bully Dog to do the "return to stock" tune this morning and everything is back to where it was yesterday before I messed with it. All good. 11 AFR at WOT.

So at this point my suspicion is that the 2.85 tune is nerfed somehow. Gadget said that there have been a few Tacomas and Tundras that just don't cooperate for some reason and there's been no rhyme or reason as to why. So it could just be the truck itself or the ECM itself.

This all probably proves nothing, but it's just another data point. Any ideas? As it is now the truck runs fine but I feel like it could be optimized a bit more for the 2.85 pulley and I'm still strongly considering the UCON when available.
