    SAS yes, but I need to start saving money :frusty: After talking to my friend who has the LC on 40's I came to the conclusion its best to go with 37's, SAS and either 3 link the rear or keep the leafs but go custom pack like Jberry. I need money to put into my tow pig

    ehh 40's are more for buggy's IMO. I'd like to keep the body damage to a minimum. If I ran 40's I would have to not care of body damage. Only trail that I want to do that 40's would really help is fordyce.

    Ehh. 40s on the Rubicon help out, and if you ever decided to give Johnson Valley a visit, then you'll be better off on 40s. Plus 40s make the curbs at the mall easier. :stirthepot:

    37's are plenty for the rubicon except on soup bowl, but even then Jerry said he's done it before on 37's. Only reason he didn't this time is there was a 4runner that flipped right in front of us and they closed it to clean up oil. Other than that I took only one other bypass because I didn't have enough flex to keep me planted.

    Johnson Valley is crazy though, pretty much guaranteed body damage from what i've seen.

    I know Soup Bowl is doable in 37s. I watched my dad crawl up in his FJ when I was 14? I think. 40s would definitely help out there.

    Body damage is avoidable in Johnson Valley. You're only guaranteed when you run SOS.

    But if you're going to SAS later down the road, why not run 40s? I'm assuming you don't daily drive or plan to daily drive the truck when it's SASed so why not run 40s and make the trail a bit more easy to run.

    Nope don't daily drive. But mainly because its cheaper since I can keep the stock rear axle with 37's, I already have the gears for them anyway. And for the reasons mentioned above.

    I'd stay away from the stock axle when you SAS. Unless you're planning to truss the hell out of it, then you'd be better off with an aftermarket axle. Then the added strength with the bigger third member will also allow for more stress compared to the dinky little 8.4" stock.

    Hopefully mine were duds. I have a lot of play in my wheel so I had someone turn the wheel a bit as I held the inner and felt a click/pop.

    Go tons when you SAS. I agree with you on going with 37's though. Eddy is running 42's on his now and then suckers are huge. When I SAS I'll just run 37's for awhile I believe.
