2017 Tacoma backup camera

Is it possible to add an alert beep sound to the backup camera?

 

If you get one with the BSM it will beep. Not sure if you can add it to a non BSM truck.

 

Unfortunately, it has no BSM. I looked at aftermarket possibilities but I have not made any decision

 

The BSM does NOT beep during backup..!! If the OP wants a "beep-beep" like heavy equipment backing up, then he can get replacement backup light bulbs that beep.....

If the OP is wanting the "park assist" feature.....forget it... Buy a more expensive truck...!!

BSM only beeps with the "cross traffic alert", when something is coming at your back end as you back out of a parking space...

Why are you so angry, over 60? I have a suspicion that in a face to face you don't speak like that. I posed a serious question especially since my previous truck, a Nissan Frontier had the sensor built in and its cost was about what my new Tacoma cost.

It's funny... I've got the TRD sport with the Tech pkg. and it has the BSM (which includes the cross traffic alert), but not the Park assist...
I just figured that in Canada we don't need that as we have lots of room to park.. The Park Assist must be an option with the "premium" pkg..??? Not sure..? Maybe it's a US option only ...???

 

easy to wire a backup beeper in if thats what you are looking for like a school bus or equipment style beep.

 

Hey, sorry man... I'm not angry at all... I was confused on just what you wanted... If you bought a basic SR5 then you likely can not add that option... What did I say that indicated that I was angry...????

 

the TRD OR I purchased comes with Park assist and BSM. The park assist will beep only when: 1. truck is backing up over the red markers shown in the back-up camera, and gets into a longer beep frequency when backing up is getting closer to object in the rear. 2. when cross traffic comes along on the sides, or a person walks on the sides (blindsides), while backing up. in the case of number 2, the BSM icon in the side mirror also activates and the audio comes on at the same time. Turning off the BSM and park assist will deactivate warning indicators.

If you watch the camera when backing up. You don't need the beeping to tell you how close you are. Save your money.

 

When people write things with ALL CAPITALS and “!!!”——it is the equivalent to yelling/shouting. The guy was just asking a question.
