Has anyone experienced cross threading on their double cabs when going to install? My rear passenger bolts have some serious angle to them when I attempt to screw them in.
    Help!

    Here's what it looks likeIMG_0323.jpgIMG_0324.jpg

Nothing yet - just got it two days ago!
Watching this question closely! I got my rack last night (love it) and have started the install on my 2017. Please post what you learn as you give this a try. Thanks in advance.

Thinking about vinyl wrapping my roof satin black before the rack goes on. Opinions?

Are you referring to mine? If so, I'm going to pick up a tap and die set and try to reset the top few threads.

Do the bolts not thread all the way in? Or are they just crooked?
Odd if the threads are fucked they'd both be the same..
    Just those two or...?

    crap bolted and welded together....
Probably an install error from the factory. (Ask me about my rear diff breather threads... :/)

Try chasing the threads and see if it's the first few, or see if it'll go easy by hand at that same angle.

Pretty sure a couple of mine were like that as well.

Just check to see if it is goes in easy or if you will need to strength to get it in there.

    That's what she said.

@LEXICON both. They only go in at an angle but will not thread in fully. This is the case for the two in the picture. The other 8 are perfect.

All the tape is gone now (unlike in the photo). Still no dice. Headed the tap route now

Both my driver and passenger side middle hole was too short, had to buy shorter bolts for those.
Not sure if they were poorly threaded but seemed odd same depth on both sides.
seems like Toyota has some quality control issues with these.
    Good luck!

Well it's done! Few minutes tapping the threads and were good to go.

Like yours, my center bolts are too short, guess I'll be making a trip to Home Depot (oh darn ). What length did you buy?

I suspect this is an issue on the 2016/2016 for all the center bolts, but I could be wrong.

I am thinking of ordering racks for my SnugTop shell and Access Cab. My question is; how hard will it be to wash the truck top(s) with the racks on?

I'm not that fussy, but I did wonder. anybody willing to share their experience?
