Anyone know if I would get a light kicked if I installed a TPMS kit on my spare? My '11 didn't come with one and I wanted to start rotating in my spare so would be ideal if all my wheels and valves were the same.

I work in a car shop and can service the system with a TPMS tool but not sure if it has the ability since my computer is meant to only register/read 4 sensors.

Usually people ask if they would kick a light if they take off the TPMS. Not sure if you add one

Ha, that's why I'm asking. You would kick a light if you take one out. I'm not sure if the computer has the ability to register more than stock.

I thought i remembered reading that some years the spare had a tpms sensor in it. They were complaining about having to flip the spare to get to the valve cause the spare was kicking the light off on the dash.

I thought that too. But we had a steel wheel as a spare. With a regular valve stem

The battery in mine must be going dead then. TPMS light came on and went off the other day

Yeah, I've been lucky that this years Winter has been very forgiving so far out here. ~45 in the morning and ~55+ in the afternoon. But, starting next week it's supposed to go back to normal and be in the low 30's every morning for the foreseeable future. Which is less than comfortable with my current gear...
