    @ChadsPride needs a French tutor/translator.
Lots of stuff too much to list here. Like, it takes a month for nav maps and traffic to load. And the screen glare/lack of binnacle design. And other stuff like this VVVV
Eew. I was using Pandora sometimes on my old phone, and now it won't recognize it on my new phone no matter what I do. Both Android. I pretty much just use ipod cabled through USB now.
    VVV
    ^^^^
In my 1st gen, I do not now how much of the improvement was one rear hose versus the new pads and rotors. Too many variables there to be conclusive. But many many members have been reporting greatly improved pedal feel with these lines. I tend to trust this more than I would say the typical butt-dyno CAI bullshit opinions. It is a generally accepted principal and makes intuitive sense. Fluid is travelling through hard lines, then hits soft rubber pieces right at the end. And where we live, that rubber get flipping hot as hell most of the time.

I also have no idea how much the ABS and VSC may be interfering with any feel or braking effect, because I didn't have all that stupid shit on the 1st gen.

Another bonus: additional damage protection from offroad/flying stone debris.

Shore shore, I'm interested to see if you notice a difference in just the lines themselves without other upgraded brake components.

Sorry, didn't mean to be a didactic cock-weasel. :beavisd:

I'm interested too! Makes sense as a first brake upgrade before going after other piles of expensive hardware. Pads would be the next increment.

I'll likely be replacing my rotors and pads with EBC when the time comes.

I put a '15 OEM HU with Nav in my '14 and have had 0 issues. There is a TSB out on some '14 & '15' HU's it's T-SB-00 35-16. If you were interested.

I bought my SS brake lines because they were extended (which I needed), selling for a good price, looked well made, and for the expansion properties @scocar listed above.

However, I did not experience a significant difference in brake feel post SS brake line install. I don't know why when so many have reported improved braking. Maybe my brakes were never fully bled properly in all these years so that masked the improvement. I don't know. That said, I'd still install SS brake lines if I had the choice. To me, it's cheap high quality insurance.

On that note, when I replace the calipers on my PreRunner, I'm having the dealership bleed the brakes. Hopefully it's not money wasted but I figure I might as well since I don't have a TechStream yet and it's a very real possibility that I have yet to grasp the nuances of bleeding brakes. :bananadead:

Well I suppose I'll find out soon enough. Maybe there is a butt-dyno-and-I-just-spent-some-money-and-I-did-sleep-at-a-Holiday-Inn effect experienced by others.

I'm always skeptical and try to be objective, and when it comes to the TW bandwaggoing effect, it drives me to be even more empirical.

I will be doing zero other mods at the time I put these on, so at least variables are controlled. If it does improve braking feel, that is just a bonus on top of not snapping them at full droop...

FWIW ... My wife was experiencing the Bluetooth dropping intermittently problem on the 2014 Highlander; the TSB software update seems to have corrected that. Can't speak to the Nav issues since we don't use that here.

I had brake lines and lift at same time and didn't notice a major braking difference but of course maybe new handling from lift masked the effect.

Butt-Dyno effect (aka placebo) probably covers most cases on TW if I had to guess. It is the internet after all, there are audiophile forums with multiple people who earnestly believe a wooden volume knob makes their stereo sound better. Presently in Japan people pay tens of thousands of dollars for their own dedicated pole transformer because that too makes a audible difference. And in Korea most fans have a timer on them because everyone there knows if you leave a fan on in a closed room overnight while you sleep you will likely die (not making that up, Google "fan death").

Which is not to say SS lines don't improve braking but rather reading that people felt it did on TW isn't particularly convincing evidence on its own.

Since Dick will be doing just this one change I'll be curious what his butt has to say about it. I suggest then that we define the SI unit for threshold of perceivable braking change to be the "Dick-butt". If only there were some sort of graphical short hand we could use for that unit...

The ones that say ss lines made a noticeable difference are the same people that put drilled and slotted rotors claiming huge improvements.

Want better brakes? Increase surface area.
