Going out late afternoon with my friend to remove our ladder stands from the woods before the bottom falls out with the weather. It's in public watershed ground, so they have to be out anyways by the end of the year.

No. Public land archery goes till end of year. Private land goes well into January.

Normally , I would be out most of the season as I take all vacation time for hunting, like right now.
My freezer is full and I'm getting back surgery on Tuesday, so I'm essentially done for the year.

Well easy fixes on book time more money isn't it ? I never ceases to amaze me how many people who have been around a while never think hmm my battery is 4 plus years old perhaps before the cold gets here I should replace it . Hell even high heat will kill an old battery I know the technology has come along but still not many batteries I have heard of go more then 4 to 5 years in a harsh environment.

Batteries here last 3 years. High temps kill 'em.

Good morning and welcome to hump day.
Apparently I can only get a year and a half out of a Toyota battery before a cell goes bad. 2 in 3 years it is time for a brand change didn't even think twice. Yeah about 3 years is all I expect out of a battery here. First sign of weakness out of the pool.

Wind chill advisory of 30 below starting tonight then it warms up enough to snow a foot or so. Then temps become a kick in the groin again. Dear Santa please send some of that global warming shit this way. Lake Superior might freeze over once again like it did a couple of years ago. Has only happened a few times in recorded history, it is a big ass lake.

FWIW ... and I know Optimas have drawn some negative reviews, but I put a Red Top Optima in my Tacoma Fall of 2010; it was still in the truck with not a single issue when I traded it in March 2016. :notsure:

Yeah that is cold for there and the ice is never good. Wait what is a teen dong in the forecast?! Bread, milk, TP, and beer are always the first to get sold out here. And after the last storm apparently dog food is in high demand too. Be safe and be a prepper!

Been awhile since I looked at them, and had a fleeting thought about them as I drove to Interstate Batteries. In 3 years I will look at doing one for sure. Your advice about the air bags was certainly spot on, have I mentioned how much I like my Firestone Ride Rites and Daystar Cradles?! Couldn't be happier with them. You haven't steered me wrong yet and if those Optimas last you that long up there would certainly work down here
