You can breed for temperment, size, disposition, conformation, and overall appearance and even health of an animal. Such as a horse, cattle, dog ect. I suppose even in people. I this case we are talking about, drive, conviction, determination, the thrill of achievement and self worth. These are things that cattle don't have any care or desire for! And with people, sometimes the worst conditions of upbringing can bring out the deepest desires of achievement out of people of all shapes, color, size, and gender!

I had a very similar situation. Bought sliders. Not their fault, but Joe still made sure I was 100% happy. That's why I tell people, when it comes to metal fab parts, if you're worried, buy mobtown. They will make sure you're happy. Not to mention they have a great line of products.

Hey Joe, after all the praise, just a heads up. If I ever get my truck back and deside on some metal fab., I will be giving you guys a shout!

^^This!! I grew up with a dad that would brag that he was the role model of what NOT to be. People would never know that I came from a dead beat dad and lost my mom at the age of 12. The "good stock" theory only works for prize winning cows.

I'm sorry, but did you you just compare breeding cattle to the human experience? Pretty sure when it comes to breeding cattle the bottom line is how marbled the ribeyes will be.

With humans there are a couple more factors in play. Lol.

There are a few threads discussing this topic out there...

In summary... yes, the included Toyota Care will service in accordinace to the maintenance schedule, which specifies oil changes at 10,000 miles / 12 months and inspection/service at 5,000 miles / 6 months. You can certainly change the oil earlier if you wish, either paying someone else or doing it yourself.

Some people, particularly those used to 3,000 mile intervals, feel 10,000 is too long. Others feel it is fine. Materials and manufacturing technology has certainly changed in the past decades. If you want factual data rather than assumption, do an oil change at 5,000 miles and send a sample to Blackstone for analysis.

As to oil brands... some prefer other brands, some are fine with Toyota's. Same for filters. My dealer sold me the oil at $6.50/qt and the filter was under $6. I saw no reason to go with anything else since I was already there picking up something else.

I changed my Tacoma's oil at 1600 miles. I will do the next at 10,000 miles. On my funcar with a 15,000 mile oil change interval I had a sample tested at nearly 8,000 miles. The results gave me no reason to disbelieve the manufacturer recommendation.

Installed the Opt7 CREE v2 fog replacement bulbs last night... and immediately swapped back in the stock bulbs. Light output was weak and horribly diffused compared to the halogens... purely an aesthetic modification with zero functional purpose.

Gotcha. I did not change that, at least as of yet. I read in a thread here about a re-routed pipe that comes around the side of the transmission rather than under it. I may upgrade to that next.

Had a conference call with one of the mid-Atlantic Toyota people regarding my issues with the tranny. They're gonna take my truck in Friday and let me drive a brand new 16 or 17 to see if the same issues persist with those. Current options would be to swap the transmission out since I've had such issues with shifting after two TSBs and still haven't totally removed the issue.

    What a fun truck!
I bought the all weather mats from toyota when I ordered my truck. They look similar to the weather tec mats, and oh my what a difference it makes. So easy to clean.
