MSRP on my '17 was $35,500. Internet price was $34,500. I paid $32,400 after some haggling.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
I first did the true car thing, and I could not believe how paltry the discount was --then tried Sams club --still worthless. The Sams club did however contact a few dealers to show an interest. Funny though my two closest dealers were not contacted --I guess it's who choses to participate and who does not.
Next I checked into US News car service --this is a good service/guide -- you have to use the little/small button to actually configure what you want. This is easily missed. Here I could set up exactly what I wanted.
Now I could see exactly what I wanted and what the cost/invoice was/is
They also have a graph to show an estimate of what is a high/average/low price that others (actual buyers, I hope) have paid.
Armed with some idea of prices -- I went asking for the lowest price they would offer me. Of course they tried to sell me what they had--NO --I did not want the extra stuff on "them". We already own a very nice fully equipped Subaru Outback including "Eyesight" (fantastic system). The new truck is to be my get around vehicle and my workhorse (I heat with wood).
I had my second closest dealer offer me a what I thought is/was a fair-great price -- and the closest dealer would not give me a price but they said they would meet or beat any deal.
The local dealer won the deal, although they did stick me for some STUPID ADMIN FEE OF $75.00. OTD for $31414 See details in my earlier post (above)

No trade.. $34,606.33 was my out-the-door price including taxes, tag, dealer fees, etc. Vehicle price was $31,430.00.

I have a VW Golf TDI that VW is buying back this upcoming week as part of the class action settlement over the diesels. Getting way more than any dealer would have paid as a trade-in. I was kicking myself after selling my '12 TRD Sport DCLB 4x4 after only a year due to an unexpected longer commute but it worked out well since I'm actually making some money off of the VW which I'm putting back towards the new Tacoma.

What dealership is giving you that?

Koons Tysons got me in a DCSB for way less than that. I know the LB adds to it. Let me see if I can find out what I paid.

Thanks! I was super surprised that I walked out that low. They really wanted me to take one off the lot because they were going to dealer trade for another one I wanted. I gues 6k off at the end of the year and not having to dealer trade is better than 4-5k off and having to get the truck from across the state.

    Hello all,

I'm currently in search of the perfect Tacoma to make my first vehicle purchase complete. I'm currently working overseas, but I will be home in the states in a couple of months, and looking to buy a Tacoma then. I'm looking at the TRD Sport and/or the Off road. I know I want 4x4 and the short bed. This being my first vehicle purchase, I have to admit, this entire process is intimidating so I want to make sure I get the best deal that I can. I want to keep my monthly payments manageable and don't want to be tied into a high interest rate. I will be able to put down as much as $10K. Any help, advice, or information is greatly appreciated!

Advice is to shoot for $3000-$3500 under sticker with dealer fees included.

This is a "What did you pay?" for 2016 thread. If there are still 2016 on the dealers lots I would actually ask for a lot less.

I was just assuming it carried over to the 2017's. I did not see a thread on that.

I just bought my Tacoma today (5/30/2017). Double Cab Short Bed 4x4 SR5 Barcelona Red

    Here's the breakdown:

    Base Price: $32,765
    V6 Tow package: 650
    All-Weather floor liners/Door Sill 209
    Mudguards 129
    Destination Charge 940
    Total Price $34,693

Agreed Price $30,800.00 + tax, doc fee, registration/licenses

Dealer didn't have the color I want so they have to get it from a nearby dealership (about 10 miles away). After an hour of waiting, truck arrived and found out that it has 250 miles on it due to multiple test drives. Told them I am not buying a brand new truck with 250 miles on it. I am ready to walk away until the manager decided to throw in a free remote starter. Took the offer. I don't know if I got a good deal or I got ripped off. Any input will highly be appreciated.

Sounds like you got a good deal. ~11% discount. that's probably under invoice. I have the same truck in blue. DCSB V6/AT 4X4 with Tow package. I love it. Enjoy your truck!
